Hey DSM, well Stuck in a hole, just bought my second GST after two years of selling my first GST(auto) due to rod knock and going through a divorce , well I got my hands on this 137,*** miles 5spd GST with only bolt ons known are FMIC and 3" cat-back and Greddy BoV. There's another claimed mod that I still need to confirm is HKS cams, as well as this suppose stage 4(if there's even a stage 4) clutch and stock flywheel ....

Well the cars runs beautiful, only problem is the clutch, it's probably the most aggressive stiff clutch...it's stiff but my problem is not just that it's aggressively stiff but the fact that it will only engage the clutch and allow you to switch gears if you stomp on the clutch pedal to floor. You will stall out or grind a gear if you don't drop the pedal all the way in, and since its so stiff it makes it hard to do so. And even a slight lift of the pedal it will stall or beging to bog down and your forced to rev high and slowly take off, also you cannot drop it in reverse without grinding the gear , all gears are just too hard to switch almost like the tranny is fighting back?

Previous Owner claims it had a heavy built block and was pushing about 400hp which why it currently has a stage 4 clutch. I forgot the brand name of the clutch I will update this as soon as I find out...

Now I haven't even taken a look at the clutch so I'm not here assuming he's correct on his claim but I'am trying seek a little info on the Symptoms I have could it just be a blown clutch or something wrong could the previous owner be lying to me as it needs a new tranny? Any info or experience or opinions are well welcomed .

I'm on here daily , so ill be replying as fast as I can.

P.S I decided not to drive the car this way, it's drivable but just to be on the safe side.

Glad to hear that you parked it for now. From what it sounds like your clutch is dragging. Meaning it is not fully disengaging. Take a look at the fork coming put of the trans if it's more to the passenger side the tranny will have to come out and shim the pivot ball. If not the pedel needs to be adjusted. I'm sure some one will link you the video.

try this and see if it helps, also give it a bleed while you are at it.

I agree adjust the clutch pedal and check for any leaks on the Slave cylinder either under the hood or by the pedal...I had a similar issue and all it ended up being was a leaking slave cylinder and bad adjusted pedal...I'd start with that

Update:

Well, sorry for not replying fast enough, my phone be acting up lately couldn't get in the site for a while...

Well, I decided to go ahead as check under the car...wait Im skipping too far ahead. After the has been parked and reading all your post I decided to go ahead and see I I can adjust the pedal, so I decided to go ahead and start it. It didn't start, in fact a big ass grinding noise came from the engine I immediately popped to good trying to figure out what's wrong? Then reached for the starter , it had came loose...

How? I have no idea, some how the bolts stripped caused the starter to fall out of the flywheel just a little to cause it to just have the teeth grinds against it and not start it. So replace the bolts retreaded the starter and bolted it back on, went ahead and tried to start it again, same thing, except it actually started just had the grinding noise coming from the engine then it stalled out...I'm sure it's the started making the grinding noise. Or the flywheel...couldn't inspect it much but went under the car and I can see the flywheel in the tranny an the teeth look fine...what gives? Is it the started its the OEM one that's made in Japan? Can it be getting stuck or something ?

Also, back to the clutch bein too aggressive, obviously I wasn't able to adjust it, but while i was underneath I saw the Slave cylinder pin pushed all the way into the fork no play at all, the mother trucker is all the way out forcin the fork towards the passenger side? Is this normal? ...also can the starter grinding noise be transmission related as in its not the starter it's just the team messed up? I might be jumping to the worse here but the car ran perfect before idk what happened?
