I got rid of my 96 eclipse gst a few years ago when I started my own automotive shop. Our shop is up and running well now and my fiancee and I kept her beautiful mint 1998 Eclipse GSX. It has been sitting in the garage for maybe the last 4 years now. This is the first time I have been back on dsmtuners in about the same time. Low and behold I find your topic and I just can't wait to get started on the GSX again. I plan on creating my own build journal. I will be taking my time to make sure everything is perfect. Thanks for the inspiration!

I'm always glad to hear I inspired a fellow DSMer. Good luck with your upcoming project!

Arnie: thanks man, keep us posted with your progress.

Small update:

I removed some of the red on the fender caps. It's not finished, but they are looking a lot better than they did.

And I was up in ND for the weekend and did a few small things. I started her and let her warm up to temp, moved my iPod cable to the center console (this took awhile because I had to take the radio back out to move the cable from the glove box to under the center console and into the console compartment), and put her back to sleep for another few months.

Also I don't think I ever posted a pic of my woofer box after I dyed it black.

Looking amazing still even nothing has been done to her.

Alright Corey, since you and Josh inspired me to get a Talon. I did end up getting one a year later. Presenting my 1995 Eagle Talon TSi FWD Standard.

February 23rd - I bought a 1995 Eagle Talon TSi FWD 5 speed for $1350.

Car being Towed for $60

The Headlights used to be orange/extremely yellow and hazed before I sanded them down, here they're hazed after sanding and after I restored them.

Out with the old windshield.

In with the new Windshield.

Evo 3 16G Turbo set up in. Thumbs up from Mike

The Talon put back together!

I had a lot of help from Josh, Sal, and Mike with the Talon. Mike helped me gutting the Talon and putting it back together. The day the windshield got put on, we put the Talon back together. Took us from 3pm-8pm ish to do everything.

Lovely Car Blackwidow ;) I just got myself a 98 tsi awd myself...

Im always in the ND /SD area with my bigrig might have to meet up for a coffee or too. I think i've seen your car last fall at the flying J getting fuel... but i could be wrong..

Thank you! I'm glad you like it. That must have been another 2Gb tho, i haven't gotten gas at flying j with it. Do you ever make it to the sioux falls area?

When I got my car it came with a couple of aftermarket keys. Problem was that none of them worked in everything. One worked in the door and ignition but not the trunk, and one worked in the ignition but nothing else and so on. So I called the local Chrysler stealership and asked if they had any OEM keys for 2G Talon's and they had one left so I snagged the last one in town. Then I went to the local Mitsu stealership and got another one for a 2G Eclipse too.

And with my tax return I picked this bad boy up from a member on here. Its an Evo III 16G with a custom fit Holset WG actuator and the wastegate is ported to 34mm. That should take care of my boost creep problem. He also threw in the tubular manifold pictured and all of the coolant and oil lines.

I will probably keep the 2G manifold because I have that nice polished cover for it.

Here's my fender caps finished up.

Awesome work. While reading page four, I noticed the paint on the fender caps. I was about to comment after page five and suggest what you have already done! Keep up the awesome work! Following*

Yup! lucky I moved here.

I have an OEM key and FOB now.

Also I got my wideband and oil pressure gauges in the mail. I can't wait to go back to ND and install all these new goodies.

I think it was around $60 for a new one. There are tough to find though. I didn't get it at the stealership, I got it about a year ago.
