Alright fellow dsmr's heres the deal, I got a 95 gst that has a 6 bolt swap with a 91 cas long wire. Everything was running good till this spring when it started making no power in the lower rpms, when it finally starts going it stops revving at 3500 rpms holds there for a few seconds still building boost than finally starts reving past 3500. my wideband shows 14.1 at idle under any throttle goes to lean. Could this be bad o2? Everything is stock on the 6 bolt other than fmic and hard intake pipe. Also my vaccume pressure seams really low, at idle it's at -15 I did a boost leak test and there are no leaks anymore. Idk what to do car doesn't puff smoke or burn oil. I'm at a loss on what to do or look for next. Anyone care to help me in the right direction I really need help here guys. Timing maybe idk I'm lost

Check for vacuum leaks and disconnected vacuum lines. AND, check AGAIN for boost leaks. If youre still on the stock IC piping webbing shit, you need to make sure all the pipes are on nice and tight and do the same to the clamps, tighten those down nice and tight. I hope this helps.

Also, i have heard of a situation where this was a symptom of a blown turbo or a turbo on its way out the door.

Well guys I just checked it all out did another boost leak test still no leaks but I checked my coolant fill cap and looks like nasty pudding so head gasket must have failed. But still starts up easily and doesn't over heat are these symptoms of head gasket?

do you have a cel that would indicate a code for the sensor.

I did have a cel for a tps sensor but replaced that cleared the code now no codes

Update. Headgasket fixed intake and exhaust manifold gaskets replaced well all new gaskets on the car, new oil new coolant new water pump and still having same problem!!!:banghead: Idk what's going on there are no boost leaks vacume is -18 afr is still at 18-19 at idle running way to lean no codes:hmm:. Does anyone have any clue what could be causing my lean running and no power. The thing I think could be is one or more of my injectors are bad does this make sense? Amy help would be great or someone to point me in a direction please.

Replace fuel filter and then see what kind of fuel pressure you have. Could be a bad fpr

Could be:
Fuel injector
Fuel pump
Clogged fuel filter

Do you have any way of checking fuel pressure at the rail?

Also, check to make sure you don't have any pre wideband exhaust leaks.

Replaced fuel pump with a walbro 255 and filter originally thinking that was the problem i have an afpr right now with a gauge on it reading 42 psi at idle. That might be my problem since its a no name was on it when I got the car. I'm starting to think one or more injectors could be to blame I have a new exhaust with new gaskets no pre wideband leaks.

I have this problem also. So i'm watching this thread. Any throttle I go lean in the top RPMs with zero power.
Only 4 PSI boost, there isn't even a line plugged into the actuator. Things I have done and replaced and still have the problem are.

REPLACED

fuel pump
filter
plugs wires
FPR
MAS

Things I've checked and double checked! LOL

Timing belt
turbo swapped out
blew compressed air back through the fuel lines (Clog?)

This is My DD, and I'm outta options.

Thing is it runs ok cruising, but any load at all there is zero power...It sounds like a Honda!

I give up on this motor time to pull it out and build a beast :) starting the tear down tomorrow 2.3 stroker baby shooting for 500hp:sneaky:

IF you can't get a stock engine to run right in the car what makes you think that you are going to be able to build a 500 horse engine. If the engine has good compression than it obviously isn't the problem. IT is either good or it isn't. Your bone stock 6 bolt will hold that 500 horsepower just fine.

yeah car sat out back for a good while. It remains the same.I did check the injectors, and read 2 ohms. I even changed them out for a different set. Timing is GTG.

I'm telling you I parked this car, and when I started it the next time a few days later there it was.

Does your car have a cat in it still?
I know this was a non turbo car but i have a 95 camaro that had a clogged catalytic converter and it had similar problems with no power removed cat and problem solved.

NO cat straight pipe.

Your talking about, like its an air flow problem? My buddy said the same. I need to unbolt the exhaust and run it just to see if it has something blocking the exhaust. I can't see what would be down in there though?...

this exact thing happened to me when i first got my talon, for me it was that the SAFC that was spliced into the maf sensor wire right at the ecu as disconnected. so basically it acted like it had no maf sensor data at all.

might check that.

right on...the data logger shows maf signal, I wonder if it still would show that if something were shorted....

Back when I had my safc2 I had a similar issue and it turns out the MAF was fried so I'd start with the MAF and check the wiring to it also could be an ecu issue have you checked your ecu?

I had a 2g maf in, and went back to the stock maf, same thing. I also swapped the ECU with an EPROM. same thing. The o2 cycles normal... with any throttle it goes into open loop, (according to MMCD) the highest inj. duty cycle is like 44%( with stock it should be twice that at WOT!!)....the MAS hz never go past 1000 at wot.... at idle the maf hz is 54, at 750-800 should be 34-37hz. Thats what it'd been since I've owned these cars.... Injector pulse is 9.9 at WOT....Not to mention timing. At cruise should be 36-38, and its 30-33!!......WTF W.T.F. GIVES
