Okay not sure if this is really a noob issue sense my car is heavily modified and well im on a dsmlink v3 tune running a speed density set up :) so yeahhhhhh ummm well im in trouble here because my o2 sensor keeps going out, I have the Innovate mtx-l wideband and well my o2 sensor keeps going out, I have already replaced the o2 about 4 times already, I called innovate and they told me it was too close to the turbo, so I moved it back about 3feet from the turbo, still went out, now I moved it back about 4.5 feet from the turbo and its still going out on me, its driving me crazy!!!! But I guess im a noob and have to post this on here...hml.... my car runs like shit when the o2 goes out, sense the tune is based off of the wideband reading the air and fuel mixtures....

What kind of AFR numbers are you running, and what fuel? Could be too much fuel burning after the turbo because it's too rich. Also the further from the O2 housing it is you have to add a delay to it's reading so it's more accurate. Is it hitting something or getting a poor ground is something else to check for. Slight oil burn in the exhaust can cause them to gum up as well.

I am using 91 pump gas, yeah the wide band starts going whacko on me and well at the end it throw a E3 code and innovate says its my wideband thats gone bad, the car has only 1400 miles since I built the engine and this is the 5th time im going to replace the o2, so technically I only driven the car 280mile between each o2 sensor.... this is a headache, im using a pte 5857 turbo and its oil cooled only, so ho2 would I know if im burning too much oil? Maybe I need to retune my car sense I did move the o2 further, but when I had first tunned it, it was located on the o2 housing, so I should have got a pretty accurate reading...

Ummm as far as AFR numbers 13-16 on idle... when I let of the gas it reads all the way to 22 and when im boosting about 10-8 I think... I heard something about a o2 heater... im only using my wideband o2 as well...

i would check your ground wires going into the ecu it might be cutting in and out from vibrations.

Okay so it does seem to be a ground issue, but would that makes the sensor go bad??? The wide band is definitely cutting out, I turn on my car and started to move the ground wire from the wide band to the ecu wire and well yeah it would cut out and start all over again, but my sensor is also going bad... would that also have to do with the wiring? ????

Get the wiring issue taken care of, re calibrate and then re asses

If all else fails check and make sure the sensor is mounted at least 10 degrees above horizontal. I burned out my aem wideband sensor because it's horizontal and something about moisture collection burns them out I guess. just a thought.

make sure your o2 is above 90 degrees in the pipe. run the bung right before the flex on your DP, close enough for accurate and quick readings but far enough away from the gasses to not harm the sensor. the front o2 sensor location is quick and accurate but being so close to the turbo can harm the sensor as you prob already know.

11 afr at WOT
14-15 afr at idle
12-14 afr at cruise, but can vary. as long as its not 10 or 20 its okay.

maybe youre using shitty gas. in TX we have the choice between 93 and 91, kinda sucks youre stuck with 91. maybe your gas station sucks? try another gas station... my 2 cents.

edit: maybe try running the wbo2 in the rear location with a stock WB in the front location for tuning. the afrs are slower to read and maybe a little more inaccurate (within .2) but your sensor sure will love it and as long as you have your AFRs youre okay.

Im having this same issue after switching to e85. I moved o2 downstream and redid valve seals and new turbo to eliminate possible oil contamination. I have to keep a spare sensor in car because i never know when its going to die.

Put it at 11, 12, or 1 o clock position I can almost guarantee it fixes it.
Key word is "almost" as I can't guarantee any advice is 100%
