Im having a little bit of doubt after timing my motor. 6 bolt block 2g head, head was machined. Crank doesnt look like it lines up perfectly but dont know if its just me.

It looks to be set correct, If you are that worried just make sire piston number one is at top dead center with a screw driver through the spark plug hole and check your marks like that.

If you are tooth off it is very evident and easy to see, you are definitely spot on.

you could always rotate it by hand to make sure it doesn't hit anything. Your marks are fine, being a tooth off is very obvious.

I know what the problem is. You have the timing marks correct on everything. The mark on the harmonic balancer will only match the timing covers timing marks. it will appear to not match perfectly, but if you put your lower timing cover on, youll see it will line up to the timing covers marks. It wont match exactly. But when you are done, and you use a timing light ,youll be able to adjust it accordingly. It should be set to 5degrees on the timing cover.

If the actual timing marks are good (they are) but the pulley to timing cover marks are not, make sure the balancer isn't coming apart!

The base of the pulley is bolted to the crank and is a ridgid connection. Then there is a thin rubber layer between that and the actual grooved pulley surfaces. Read up on harmonic balancers if don't know what I mean. Anyway make sure the rubber isn't worn out and slipping. The way I check for this is draw a bright marker line across and see if it gets out of alignment after engine been running. Timing light isn't going to work because timing is always jumping around even at idle.

Put a long screwdriver in the first spark plug hole to double check.
I have seen where the plate on the crank was wallowed out a tad and would read off a little bit.

Dont forget how many degrees the piston stays up at TDC. In other words that wont work without a degree wheel.

Id like to see a worn out timing/crank trigger plate... Just sayin'...

This isnt complicated, its the dampers misprint. Swap out to the stock damper, betcha itll line up.
