So I just moved here today and I need to get a few things done to my car. I don't know anybody here yet and would like to meet some locals. I first need to get an o2 bung welded in my car for my wideband. I also need to get the car to pass a pa inspect ion., Idk the rules here but it's not my dd it's a weekend toy only and it laughes at emissions. I also need to get it tuned I have a decent tune to drive it but I want it dailed in it's running pig rich. Can anyone help.

hey man welcome to the area. if you're looking to go get a tune I'm going to be headed to tpg tuning sometime in April to get my car tuned. As of now another buddy is coming with his vr-4. If you are interested let me know probably get a better price break if we bring down 3 cars. Can't help you with getting the bung welded and good luck with the inspection I had to find a guy to work with me to get mine inspected. If you can find a guy and have link you can pass.

For the welding, just call around. The inspection will be an issue. Why do you say it laughs at emissions?

You can get an exemption but you have to have a current pa emissions sticker. I'm unsure of where you are relocating from.

Im coming from Missouri, as long as you horn, blinker, and wipers work your good to go. No stupid rules there. Now when I was still in the Navy in San Diego, emissions was the reason I sold my srt4.

What are their tuning rates, IM interested as long as their pretty conservative, my setup is good for about 800 and I don't want to go near that.

It's has dump tubes, bigger turbo, bigger injectors and no cats. That's why IM assuming it won't pass. So your saying it will have to pass an initial time? Ooo no

Pre muffler exhaust leaks won't pass visual emissions unless you find a shop to look past that as well as being cat less. They will still be required to hook up to the obd2 port for a connection testing the readiness state.

Once you pass the following years you can qualify for emissions exempt pending you drive less than 5k miles a year. That will also be that you get renewed before it expires too.

There is a chance your county doesn't have emissions but I am pretty sure York county has emissions testing.

It's not ridiculous, it's an attempt to reduce harmful pollutants. What is messed up is that all or non of the state should be required, not picking and choosing based off of population per county.

That's what IM getting it should be all or nothing, not a pick and choose

True, but it's based on population density. Less people means greater chance for no emissions (perry county).

I would suggest finding some speed shops that deal with imports and start befriending them unless you can put a cat converter on and swap out the dump tube all assuming you have readied readiness states.

I just moved here from Missouri, and I paid my buddy who I trusted, quit a bit of money to install my 2.4 slowboy racing destroker into my 2g GSX, as soon as we put in and after the first few start ups it was making a funny ticking sound that seem to be just a little chattery valve train. He assured me time and time and time and time and time again that it was okay, because was just cold natured since it was still winter time out and cold. We are now warmer out and now this thing is starting to tick take like crazy although it does seem to quiet down when the car warms up a bit. I've got way too money in this much money this thing it makes me sick to my stomach to even hear it run. I know quite a bit about cars and my setup and im pretty knowledgeable, I've just never been able to have a lot of hands on experience with the car do to me leaving it at my moms while I was in the Navy for the five years I owned it. I'm looking for a trustworthy person in the area to help me and look at my car and figure out the issue cause I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to pull my motor again and I'm not happy about it.
