I was cleaning my throttle body today and got everything back on besides the throttle cable. Scariest thing when I start the car and all of a sudden cant go anywhere. :ohdamn:

I disagree.

Nothing is scarier than having a camel spider fall on you while you mounting your exhaust.

:)

Little brother has a relatable to the exhaust. Nothing more scary than removing the exhaust from his 914, and then wondering what's holding up the other end he just unbolted.

Answer? Nothing.. Which proceeded to fall on his nuts. WHich made him sit up and his head hit the transmission. He laid there for 5 minutes figuring out why he was in so much pain.

The camel spider gave me the chills and about the 914 exhaust made me laugh hysterically. Lmao

I have a pic of it too after I caught it. The body alone was around the size of a quarter. Ugliest creatures on the planet hands down, so I'll spare the pic.

Nothing scarier than running in the high end of the rpm range and boom! Pipe comes off. Though its happened so much I've got used to it but fixed that issue now, so far...
Whats a camel spider look like?

Fixed!! I want to see! I saw one when I was deployed but I always enjoy seeing fuzzy little creatures!

Yes, please share this wonderful picture. I googled what they look like but an "action shot" would be better.

^^^ That made my day ROFL

To me nothing was scarier than grabbing a metal handle of a (plugged-in) battery charger that has shorted out between 110v power and the exterior and the handle. And no, i did not know the charger had issues.

Nothing is scarier than a random afghan with a recoilless rifle.

I messed myself pretty good once when back in the day the throttle hung wide-open on my twin-turbo 5.0 Mustang on city streets.

That wasn't the only one either, just the only one to fall on me. They're actually pretty common here and they love my nice cold shop in the summer. I'll be doing some tedious DSM work, drop a wrench or something, and look down to see one staring right at me. It's disturbing. :| But the advice in this link really helped deal with them. LOL

I just recently had this issue I'm my Spyder thanks to the missing floor mat hook. I was on a patch of snow which let the tires spin to infinity, then hit dry pavement which launched the car slightly past infinity. That floor mat is probably still in the ditch where I landed.

I was looking at oncoming thunder storm cloud's coming in and going around a corner doing 65 in my evo after leaving my girlfriends house. I hit some loose gravel and 720'd with smoke everywhere. In and out of the shoulder gravel barely avoiding the 10 foot deep ditch. After I came to a stop and the smoke cleared I just sat there staring out the windshield for a few mins before I slowly took off. The rocks that kicked up had chipped up my paint but I am glad i did not roll down the ditch and die. That was one of my scariest sober moments.

Which corner? The 5 mile corner outside of Thompson, the ones outside of scarville when heading north out of lake mills, or the ones heading past Joice blacktop. Only ones in that area I can think of that could be that bad. I could see the ones outside of scarville being horrible in the rain AND looking at thunder storm clouds since those are tight corners LOL.

After Fertile going west on hwy9 you turn north going the back way to lake mills. Right after the Joice exit the road goes west then back north again. It was the first turn to the west.

I take it you grew up around here?

As far as DSM's are concerned...

Nothing is scarier than when the cas plug pops off.

The rest of life?

A 720 hydroplane across three lanes of the Ohio Turnpike (I80) (far left lane to far right lane) on the way home from the 07 shootout "rainout". Slid in front of a Volvo semi and directly between a dark green Dodge Caravan and a silver VW Jetta. (I remember this VERY clearly LOL).

Only damage done... teeeeeny scuff on the rear bumper of my red 02 Monte Carlo that made the shootout trip several times (07,08,09). That car actually made it into the Modified Magazine coverage of the Shootout in 2007.
