I bought this 95 tsi fwd, and it was ghettofied. It ran alright on the way back home, but after I fixed a lot of it, it now has no power. Takes a lot just to get the car moving. I replaced the plugs and wires, it had a 1g tps on it, I put a 2g one on, and other misc stuff. It idles perfectly fine. The only
Thing I would say is a little off, it sometime the idle drops when the clutch is disengaged. That's disengaged, not engaged, so don't mention crank walk. But it's nothing serious, maybe 100rpm. But it feels like I'm driving with the e brake on.

Any aftermarket equipment installed or any check engine lights on?

Just open air intake. Also, the tranny mount was broken, and I replaced that which raised the tranny by about an inch. But it was always flush with the block. I didn't have a check engine light when it started doing this, but after I took off the 1g tps and put the 2g one on I got a cel. It says error when I try to pull it with an obd2 scanner.

Well then, you have electrical issues to work out then whether it's sensors or the wiring itself. The ECU may be pulling a boat load of timing which is why it's a pig right now.

Go over everything, make sure the tps sensor is wired correctly and diagnose the obdII port for the connectivity problems. You'll need to wait for another member that has much more in depth electrical experience.

I guess it does feel like its pulling huge amounts of timing. I'm just confused on why it started to do this after fixing stuff. Ive checked the tps, and it's good, I'll have to check the wiring. I don't even know how to check what's up with the obd2 port..

Got the code p0120, tps, I tested it before and it came up good, ill have to retest it. Is there a way to test the harness?

Got a working tps, same problem, no power. But if I unplug it, it actually runs better. Not great, but a whole lot better.

It's got 4 wires. Is there a way to check the harness? Anyone know the wire colors so I can see if it's been messed with. And the order those wires go into the harness.

Well the wire colors are correct, and in the right order. I need suggestions..

did you set the tps if not it would run like that
