obviously anything go wrong at anytime given the right circumstances and history of mistreatment. guess the question is what is most likely going to start going wrong if you haul ass out of first gear at every redlight and run every gear out everywhere you go?

including motor, and transmission. given spark, fuel, and air at 7000 rpm what is going to go wrong if you abuse your dsm.

lets just say its a fresh timing and wp job too

:dsm:

I go through a clutch and a set of tires every year, and I only get 200 miles out of a tank of gas.

I suppose it really depends on who maintains your car though.

Ps. Copper plugs only last about a month and a half.

Guess you'll find out once things start breaking if they are worn out. I advise you against aggressive driving while on shared roadways unless you like risking lives and receiving citations.

Keep an ear on sounds from the transmission and have good brakes and tires for when you need to stop the car before hitting something or going off the roadway.

Honestly, I've baby'd these cars and broke them, and i've also beat the living crap out of them, some with NO proper maintenance besides oil level upkeep, and they keep going.

I think its a luck thing. But doing all the basic stuff first, really eliminates alot of your worries.

Pretty much nothing ever goes wrong with these cars. Keep at it.

It shouldn't hurt the car to go WOT if the engine/tune is healthy. If you aren't hard launching at every light your suspention should be fine as well.

Just replace normal stuff at scheduled times: Tires, oil change, axle boots, clutch, tie rods, fluids, etc...

As long as you aren't neglecting the normal stuff your car should be just fine driving a little spirited...

thanks for the insight.

and it is not me who is ragging out their car, its my little brother in his 97 gst. he has all of his maintenance done because myself and our older brothers all own DSMs so he thinks hes safe to haul ass from point A to B because he has 80k miles.

as for the dangers of driving fast on public roads, thanks for speaking the obvious but if i didnt know that i probably shouldnt own a car in the first place LOL.

i guess he does have a safeguard since he is running the t25 on stock boost and tune.
