What do you guys think is a reasonable insurance rate on an Evo 9 for a single male, age 29 and no tickets. I'm getting quotes from my insurance company (Mercury) around $1000-1500 for six months.. seems steep :|

Also what's a fair price for one? I found one at a dealership I absolutely love, it's a 2006 Evo 9 with only 16k miles, but they want $28k for it, should I pass?..

I am not trying to be a dick, but...

evolutionm.net

Don't you think they may be more knowledgeable on the subject?

Why not try looking/shopping around... the Auto Club is pretty cheap

I pay about $110/mo for my ix. I'm 27 and married living in nj where car insurance rates are amongst the highest in the country.

The 28k seems high and I'd want to know the cars history for that much, remember many low mileage evos were only used for the track or modded heavily and then returned to stock. IXs are still goin for quite a good amount though, most listed for sale under 20k are either high mileage or have salvage titles

I would have no problem paying $110 a month for an Evo, My quotes are ridiculous, somethings gotta give..

I think tomorrow I'll stop by my insurance company and have them quote it for me instead of using the website, maybe I'm doing something wrong.

28k seams steep, you can get a x for that. I am at 85.00 a month for full coverage with 500$ deductibles for my evo. It is going to go down more in April when I turn 25 also. Progressive FTW. As for EVOM, this site probably has more info on evos than evom. That site sucks, nothing but 16 year olds talking about venting blow off valves.

28k is heavily over priced.

I'm 29, no tickets, no accidents, single, and on my own policy. I pay roughly $950 every 6 months for full coverage and a few additions to my policy (renter's insurance, under-insured coverage, etc).

Thanks for your replies guys, appreciate it :thumb:

I went to an insurance agency and they found an insurance company for me that will give me full coverage for a little over $1000 for a year, not bad I think. Yeah I will pass on a $28K Evo, even if it is really nice, too pricey. Here's a link to it, in case you guys were curious to see it.. 2006 blue Evo
