Correct me if I wrong, but I thought there were several of the big guns in the DSM world stateside that have been running Mivec on a DSM head for a while now?

Cool non the less!

Is that a NSX? I bet thats a PITA to work on and upgrade...pricey to upgrade too. But it is sexy and a hell of a good cornering car.

ahhaah yeah annoying to work on, awesome handling at high speeds but don't bother trying to park one in tight spaces....

yes you are correct only issue is the cost of getting all the machine work done to prep the DSM heads for MIVEC, extremely costly...

only a few have actually crossed over 3rd gen heads with 1st/2nd gen blocks, and again big race companies which never tell you what needs to be done for the conversion.....

i do all my work in my tiny garage with a very tiny budget :) and i dont mind sharing information..

About the CAS: It seems that you placed it on the exhaust cam. Any compensations with this when using a 1g CAS? ex: does it have to be rotated 180*

I thought the same for a second... He's using a evo ecu so that solves the issue

Now running HKS264 cams... soo much more wheels spin....

was walking around one of the spare parts yards and noticed that the newer Hyundai engines are the same as the 3rd gen 4G63's.....

valve cover was only $10 so i thought id see how she goes into fitting my set up... just to add more to the confusion...

What year and model Hyundai did you get that valve cover from?
Haven't seen that style used yet. What type of 4G63 do you have it on anyway?

sorry bro havent been on for a while..

2004 lantra 2lt i think... the car was fairly messed up at the wreckers, i just noticed the engine was identical to the Evo 4-8 and took the rocker cover to test..

my 4G63 is still a 6bolt bottom end...

MIVEC was the first thing i thought. bummer it was introduced in the evo 9. Wonder if there are any older 4gs running mivec head? google time!

Did you need to mod pistons as far as valve relief etc??

nope, still facing the normal orientation..

forgot to add this: (from the welding thread)
playing around with 316 stainless and purge welding.... should last longer then my car...

Correct me if im wrong, but i thought only IX come with MIVEC?

Incase this has not been said but the evo9 was not even full mivec only the intake cam was mivec on the evo 9, the evo x is full mivec! I had a convo with a chap last year about this as I did not believe him but the chap that was with lancer register group all confirmed it for me.

I was shocked to find this out as I really thought it was full can of beans

The build looks great aswell,

Cheers guys!

was playing with my HTC and came across a friends generic windscreen mount...

still on VR4 chipped ECU, disregard the loud crunch when gear changing.. 1989 gear box hates high rpm shifts...

cruising around

Do you have any pictures of your headlight mount? I love it.

Info on what lights you used and how you mounted them to the car. Did you use the stock frame and go off of that or is it all custom to the car? I might steal this idea from you.

EDIT: Old 7 series headlights? Yay Google!

oh i used BMW E30 M3 head lights (non smiley face units), they work perfect with HId's. the frame work from the BMW lights needs some work but not to much..
