I messed up my gauges a while back trying to put those overlays from import intelligence in. I found on ebay a complete gauge cluster from a n/t (figured better off that way then from a stealership), and was wondering if it will fit in my gsx. I'm not concerned about not having the stock boost gauge (already have an aftermarket one), I just wanted to check and make sure the gauge cluster will fit into my car, because it has the plugs that go into the cluster and make sure they were the same, and it will work.

Thanks in advance. :dsm:

No, the N/T cluster will not work in your turbo DSM. Not only is there no boost gauge like you mentioned, but also the speedometer is different. The location of the MPH hash marks are different and the top speed is different too.

Thanks, any idea where I can find the whole cluster without going thru a dealership?

I know you said the hash marks and top speed is different then the turbo clusters, but I found this on ebay and it looks the same. Any ideas?

Sorry to drag this back from the dead, but I didn't think a new thread was necessary. From my research, it seems the 2g NT gauge cluster actually does work in a Turbo car. However, I've been wondering about the 2g NT Spyder gauge cluster. The only difference (apart from Boost and Oil gauges) is the tachometer. The Turbo cluster has a 7k redline and keeps going to 9k. The Spyder GS cluster has a 6k redline and stops at 8k. Because of this the RPM lines between the two don't match up (see pics). So my questions are:

Would the Spyder GS cluster install into a Turbo dash? Can't imagine it wouldn't, but with the Spyder GS being such an oddball it wouldn't surprise me.

Would the Spyder GS tachometer read wrong in a Turbo car? If the tach uses a direct signal from the coil pack then it should work fine. The 4g63 and 4g64 have nearly identical ignition systems. But if the ECU translates the tach signal into some amount of voltage which drives the tachometer, there could possibly be a discrepancy. The GS tach would require more voltage per PRM to move the needle farther, so it would read low in Turbo car.

Hopefully someone can answer this. If not I guess I'll be the guinea pig!

I own a 2g GS (4g63 NA) EURO SPEC, when I swapped to turbo the Gst/x cluster worked well!
The speedo works on "#rpm per mile" (or km in my case) so rpm is the base counting unit.
Oil gauge, Water temp gauge, fuel gauge, and all the service lights share same pinouts, only the flexi pcb are routed differently. Personally checked.
Just to say, our "Ecu to cluster" wiring harness has the prevision for a boost meter. LOL
I think the only real difference is between a A/T and M/T clusters.

I've always kinda wondered about this too. Not so much for the cluster, but more for the dash wire harness. Since so many of the other harnesses between models are the same, or nearly the same, I always wanted to compare the turbo and N/T dash wires so I wouldn't have to go through the trouble of swapping harnesses every time I change the dash to black. I know AWD models are the only ones that came with power features for the driver seats, yet both turbo spyders I've owned have had the connectors and the power seat swaps in and works with no mods. Just using that as an example.
