1. Rear wheel bearings on a awd that is winter driven.
2. Ac evaporator and removing the dash.
3. Clutch pedal assembly

Tip on the Dash:

Remove the steering wheel before you try to take the dash out. It makes it loads easier. My buddy and I swapped a new dash in my car in under four hours, and that was with a trip to the hardware store to buy an extension.

Which brings up another point. When you do the dash, have a long extension, or else you'll never be able get the blots in the speaker holes out. I have a 3" and a 10" that I used, and still barely had enough room. The longer the better. A universal joint might help too.

Worst part I've ever changed was the O2 sensor.

I hate and despise the Clutch pedal assembly! I did all that including removing sterring column and almost everything under steering wheel. What was weird it only took me 2hrs to do. Putting in a new welded one in without cutting wires on accident. Pain in the A**!

Where do I start:

The starter is easy as pie now that I've done it about 7 times from the first two cars I owned.

The head wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be, only thing that got me in trouble was rushing when I put it back together. I believe I finally learned my lesson of rushing on these cars. Do NOT do it or you will be in trouble for the next few months fixing it. The hardest parts of the head removal/installation was finding everything that needed to be taken off, then I didn't label everything(makes me feel like an idiot.) so when I put it back together I had shit missing/not together. FiascoXL came and saved me and helped me get it back together right. After having a guy yell and cuss at you for about an hour for all your mistakes, you try to remember them for next time.

The hardest things was the fuel pump on a FWD. That was the most annoying week for that car when it was running.

Anything that deals with the clutch assembly I hate and don't wanna touch due to the fact of how tall and lanky I am.

Trans mount is a pain when installing the engine/trans together from the top. It's hard to tell when to put the mount on during the process. I actually cut the tips off the studs to get an extra inch and it made a huge difference. But still a pain.

But easily the worst job on these cars is anything suspension related if you have rust. I had to cut literally every single bolt that went through a bushing. Thankfully I was prepared with new lateral arms and poly bushings, but 20+ grade 8.8 SS bolts weren't cheap.

Boy aint it. Ive had to go through that fiasco twice: once when fuel cut broke it, and then when putting the motor in, after putting all the other mounts on

Removal of the clutch lever assembly (to weld) or anything that requres you to lay inverted underneath the dash with tools and a hot shop light above your face for extended periods of time.
:dsm:

I would rather do 2 head gaskets. The clutch pedal assembly on a 1G makes me invent new curse words. And the job really doesn't seem to get any easier no matter how many times you've done it.

gas tank is a M****r f***er. only had to change cause it leaks with more than 4 gallons in it from the top seal. i replaced it when i put in the wally, still leaked, replaced it again, still leaks. i think the top of the tank is warped since the lock ring WILL NOT go on all the way, even with the special tool for installing it. everyone one in my shop tried to put that little baastard on.

crank seal, lots of stuff to remove

coil packs, might as well pull manifold

heater core

windshield without the right tools, bad idea

Honestly... I've done so much... If my motor just throwed a rod at start up, I would be just as upset as my master cyl going out. Just another day.

on a NT, the rear motor mount, the trans mount, the alt.
replacing the e-brake cables (dropping the exhaust to do it)
