After a year of driving my Galant, I got another, equally as rare, daily driver: 2001 Vevhicross.

I loved these cars when they came out in the '90's. They were so ahead of their time, that people still think that it is a brand new vehicle! But they were kind of pricy: over $30k, when similar cars sold around $20k.

A few months ago, I was looking for a Mitsu Outlander and ran into one of these. That is when I realized that you pick one up for under $5k!!! So, I found this one VX forum in North Carolina (read: rust free ;)) and had it shipped to Mass.

I did a few things to it: bigger tires, died plastic cladding and replaced a few broken trim pieces. Otherwise, I have been thorrowlly enjoying this truck!

Hey, I've seen one of those ugly motherfvckers before. They seem like they would be cool to have though.

You may want to redo the black pieces, they seem to look very inconsistent (dark and light spots).

Whats the hp/tq on that thing? How does it perform offroad with the bigger tires.

It is using Isuzu's 3.5 twin cam engine from the 90's. It makes 215hp/230lb*ft, not exactly a powerhouse ;). But enough to get it around.

On road handling is remarkably good for a such a large, frame based, SUV (even with bigger tires)! It is supposed to be a very capable off-roader, but I can't attest to that, as I have never done it :).

Thanks guys, I can honestly say that I NEVER had a vehicle which got this much attention! I can't get gas without someone approaching me about it! And all of it is very positive, I am sure that there are plenty of haters, they just do not approach me ;)

I saw one of these in a parking lot about six months ago and must've drive by it 5 time thinking both that's kinda cool looking and what the hell is it

It doesn't help that many owners debadge them! Usually there is Isuzu on the grill and across the rear gate. ;)

I've liked those ever since they came out in the 90s. They were really ahead of their time style wise.

This was one of most pure adaptations of a wild concept cars in history! Viper and Prawler were ather two examples :)

But most people can't believe that his is a mid 90's design!
