Ok. This isn't the normal "My CC won't work" thread.
1. I have a 1990 model.
2. When I bought it the CC was "deleted"
3. I drive over 6 hours a lot of days and that SUCKS.
4. A 90 model CC module is damn near impossible to find.
5. The ones I did find I couldn't afford.
So now the fun part.
I found a 91+ model and did a ton of work to it to make it work. I fabricated longer wires with two plugs to go from 90 location to firewall location. I drilled a hole in the firewall and mounted it. I ran everything and removed the non cruise cable I did have.
Well of course after all that work, it doesn't work.
1. The orange light on the stalk on the column does come on.
2. When I set the CC the cruise light comes on on the dash.
3. It doesn't work.
I just recently read that the 90 model is a mechanical style while the 91+ is an electric style.
Is there ANY WAY to make this one work or am I screwed?
PS. Will trade a non cruise cable (90-99) for a 90 cruise control assembly.
EDIT: The cruise control brain box above the fuse box was bad. Replaced it and good to go!
