So I believe I do have a crank walking '98 7 bolt block. I've gone through 2 crank position sensors in two months also randomly while only making left hand turns the clutch will slip.

So obviously I start searching for a 6 bolt short or long block. I come across a gentleman about 3 hours away that had a fuel rail leak which turned into a fire. Luckily he had means to put it out relatively quick. The wiring harness, vacuum lines, spark plug wires and all other plastic objects from the firewall up to the block are gone. The head looks great, intake manifold doesn't look so good, upper timing belt is melted along with the timing belt. Not sure about the CAS yet, but basically all solid metal parts of the head are in working order with a little but of cleaning. The short block didn't take any damage at all. From the tranny to the pulleys, everything is in great shape.

He told me for $180 I can come anything and everything out of the engine I want. BOV, SMIC, anything.

Good deal?? (Also I won't be using the head at all, I'll be going the 2G head 1 G block route)

For 180$ I will jump on that deal, and grab everything you can.

Its either that or $600 for a fully stock '90 GSX with everything intact that has no rear interior and a fried fuel pump? This one is literally 20 mins away.

Im really only looking to get a short block. But any extras I can get that can help pay for the cost would be awesome.

If you have the room, offer him 500 for it. Once i get a descent size garage I'm going to load up on part cars. LOL

For $180, take what you want?? I be there with a truck, trailer and a sawzall, Cut the car in half behind the front seats and roll it up on the trailer and be gone in a hour!

Shit really? I have a 6 bolt shortblock that actually came out of a 2g, the pistons are clean and look like they've never been run. The block looks like it has just been honed as well. It did have a head on it but i've since sold it. I took the block a part to see what was wrong with it but couldnt find anything. Im trying to get rid of it and would give you the rods, pistons, shortblock w/squirters,crank, everything you need to re-assemble it for $75. I live in a (sort of ritzy) apartment complex and the condo owner that i rent from rented out the garage to someone else before i had a chance to get it when i moved in. I have two blocks in my house!!! please take this one. I'll even throw in the alternator and power steering pump.

Originally I was going to build it, but then i found a ridiculously killer deal on a new longblock with forged rods/pistons and ported head.

As a matter of fact, you can even buy the ported head (it was just rebuilt) from me (w/valves,springs, everything already installed and ready to rock) I also have a set of hks 264 cams that I don't need. Seriously, im just trying to unload the stuff I do not need.

Im in Jacksonville, so depending on where in SC you are in, I could be 4 hours or 3 hours away.

Check the bottom three pictures of the first post. The block looks to have had liquid resting in the cylinders for a while but the pistons have almost no carbon build up, the oil pan and block are bone dry of oil, and the piston rings look brand new; This leads me to believe this was a fresh build but for some reason the guy never got a chance to run it. The story about this block was that it was pulled from the back (yes, the trunk) of a 2g gsx on the naval base here in Jacksonville because the PO left it on base and something happened (I have no idea) to where he didn't come back for it.

First come first serve. Just sayin' I'm tired of it being here, and its kind of hard trying to get laid when you bring a girl back to your extremely nice apartment complex, then open the door to your apartment full of DSM.

nah man, he's asking too much I'd offer him 20 dollars and to have me dinner ready when I get there. LOL

Well the 90 GSX was sold today. I was second in line, so I will be on my way to pick up a full 6 bolt long block for $180 tomorrow morning. I'm in need of a 6 bolt lightweight flywheel AWD if anyone has one or knows of one.

So after a 4 hour drive and four hour tear down session, I'm on my way home! In my Nissan Altima I have a complete JDM long block with 75k on it. Brand new act 2600 clutch, new stock ECU, two MAFs, newly rebuilt 14b with ZERO shaft play, three valve covers and other random shit for a whopping $180. Oh yeah! Rebuild here I come.
