I was wondering what you guys thought about this. I was wanting to go bigger than my fp3065. I want at least 650whp. I know I could send me 3065 for $700 and get the 82HTA upgrade (making it a "3082" they said), but that just makes it flow 68lb/min vs the normal 65. Is it worth it or should I just buy the HTA3586 and try to sell my 3065? They also said the upgraded wheel will make it spool a little faster.

This is a street driven, FWD car. And I haven't had it at the dyno to see what it makes on the 37ish psi

What fuel are you using? At 37lbs your probably at 650whp assuming your on E85. Lucas English put down 621@31lbs on a regular 3065..

I just picked up a "82hta" myself with a .63 t3 housing, hope to have the car done and dyno'd soon!

My fuel setup is fic2150, walbro 450, -8an supply and -6an return, fuel lab fpr and filter on e85.

I think the car will rock with either the 3065 or 3082 mod. Are you going to go with the FP based 3586? Or the t3 turbine housing? If going to a t3 housing the other thing to consider there is going to be new down pipe/ o2 housing and new manifold.

Yeah I'd say your right around 650whp with your setup. If your expecting more I'd look into the HTA3586 because 37lbs is taxing that turbo..

I would go with the fp3586. I just didn't know if $700 is worth the 3lb/min. Right now it is a T3 with a vband. I have a punishment racing t3 manifold with a 38mm flange with a custom downpipe. So I'd like to go with a t3 and vband turbo

This isn't a direct comparison but a few years back when the HTA's came out a local, running a 35R had the turbo sent in for the HTA upgrade. The car was tuned at Magnus & the results between the two versions were only something like peak 15whp (this was on lower boost though 24-25psi). Now the HTA will spool abit quicker & should add more midrange torque/power but it won't be night & day difference.

If you feel the 3065 is maxed at your current 37psi & you want to up the boost abit more, the HTA version should allow you to do this. All 3 turbo's could probably hit your goal, just depends on how much you want to spend & how easily you want to hit it/room to grow.

Quick question: Are you on the stock tranny??? Or do you have a LSD. Didnt see it in mods list. Sorry to go off topic.

You will definitly loose spool going to the larger HTA3586. Remember your ditching the smaller quicker spooling 30R wheel for the larger 35R wheel, and you'd want to run the .82 A/R housing to utilize the extra flow the 86 produces. At 650wheel that shouldn't be a concern to anyone IMO, but if it's a concern for yourself, the HTA3582 may better suite your goals. The HTA3582 is a 70lbs/min turbo and packs a serious punch. It's really up to the your goals and what you want from the car. You need to decide also if you can shell out the $ for a new HTA35R ($2200), or if you want to spend the $700 upgrade and try and achieve your goal for a fraction of the price.

If I was just in it for the HP, I'd probobly just slap a JB billit 67mm and call it good.

That's what I was thinking. I guess I could just get a ball bearing 6266.
