I use the original maps.and the original octane routine. Only I use the egr valued to set the octane value then a little jump routine at the global injector and a modded form og the map interp between 2 inj globals

This may be something read. From the looks of it (at least on the EVOecu side of the house) it is a lot closer to being a reality.

FreeFuel ECU patch - a flex fuel implementation to Evo ECU - evolutionm.net

This is actually the route I'm going as I'm running a Evo ecu in my 1g these days... .The Fuel and timing maps were just to large and high resolution to pass up over some of the other options for me :)

Though I may look into some other routes in the future.

I think the major factor for most people anymore is people who put a lot of miles on their car and don't have Ethanol as available as others in some parts of the country. It's not a big deal to me But I'm sure the thought of some to not have to worry about digging out the laptop while on a vacation after you been running it as long some of us or just flat out is appealing. As well and as said for those that are not Tuning their own cars it would be nice. Being not everyone pays as much attention as some to things and the potential for ease of switching between fuels and no worries of a way off mix.

I wouldn't mind running E85, shame my fuel system cant support it... The Evos ECU has came leaps and bounds from when it originally left the factory in that all of the advances there were done by the end user and not the big name shops... Cool thing is that there is enough similarities in the coding that there have been a couple of things brought over from the Evo ECU as a result of the work they did. Ceddys SD mod for example. Sadly he has spent any time in the DSM community lately but with the right person behind it I am sure it would only be a matter of time before it could be seen in the DSM community.

Id be careful with the evo ecus they are not fully dissassembled lkikme the dsm ecu...meaning noone has a good understanding of what they are doing, and the can do strange stuff at weird times...

bastarddsm are u tuning your car off an eprom?
If so how did you get the timing and fuel maps past 7K?
Sorry for going off topic

As for my input, while it would be pretty cool to have this functional sensor, unless its something you can fab up like bastarddsm, then it most likely won't be introduced for this platform as said
Just run the tank low and switch fuel and tune

Dave W, came up with it a mod for 9k maps. I use a ostrich in my car.

Best thing is IMHO, just hook a pot to the egr input, and tune it to taste LOL.

The sensor is nice tho, I got tired of pulling fuel samples and testing it every time my car ran poopy.

Oh thats nice, ### that what was always what i saw as the major drawback to 1g ecu was once you outgrew the 1g ecus rpm limit.
Haha, looks like your car has come a long way man since we talked when you bought whatever part it was off of me. congrats:thumb:

ROFL Man u couldnt go 9s if u bought an 8second car. Just shut up.

ha. I saw your junk your trying to sell. Garbage. I hope you don't have the same quality work on the cdub car.

Where is your contribution to anything dsm related? have you pushed the state of ecu hacking forward? Have you developed code mods that allow map based timign tables? or full FFV capability?

#### no. You havnn't done shit.

Maybe next time you call someone out, you actually do something to push the platform ahead. The only thing I've ever seen outa you is a big game talked, and nothing to back it.

Then again I'd be upset too if I only went 10.8@135 on an S362.

Your a loser.

bi*** our car went 8s years ago. I dont mess with stock ecu shit. And i dont give a #### what you have done. Its apparent that u dont know what your doing with building a car. And if my cars so much junk, then lets run. $5000 anytime you feel like losing some money. You car is a piece of shit. You make 600hp and u cant even get in the 10s. Your a loser. You talk all this shit and have NOTHING to back it up. I can back up anything i say. Your a waste of life.

Fellas, where have we gone wrong here and how did the topic take such a downfall? Can we try to stay on topic? I am really interested in learning about this capability in the DSM.

I'd love to see something that could be purchased so I wouldn't have to retune everytime the fuel changes.

Yes. I feel the same way, my friend. :thumb:

FreeFuel ECU patch - a flex fuel implementation to Evo ECU - evolutionm.net

I believe I'm currently the only one testing this patch right now, and I can confirm that it works! I made a frequency to analogue converter from Mouser Electronics parts for $10. I'd never spend $200 on that crappy Zeitronix part that does the same thing!

When I'm not tinkering with OEM ECU ROMs, I run an AEM Infinity EMS in both my DD GSX and my race car. It does 100% full flex fuel, and the ethanol content trim tables are fully adjustable. For instance, on my daily driver with the stock block, I'm all in boost-wise at only 40% Ethanol, since that's all it takes to run the maximum boost I'm comfortable with on this engine. For timing, I'm all in at 70% Ethanol and of course the fuel interpolation is linear 0-100%. I've filled up the tank going from E85 to 91 with the engine running, pulled out of the gas station and went WOT onto the freeway and everything ran perfect. It's great.

The AEM Series II EMS will soon have full flex fuel control as well in a very similar fashion as above. Both the Infinity and Series II will accept the frequency signal from the FF sensor directly, no funky adapters/signal converters here :)
