Ok so i was replacing the slave and master for the clutch. Did the slave no problem. Had no problems with the master until i went to unbolt it from the firewall under the hood. At first the nut would just spin and not catch to the threads. So i cut the bolt off now i need to get the stud off bc its to short and out a new one in so i can put in the new oem master. But the stud wont budge. Ivetryed hammering it and prying it off from the insode but no luck. Can anyone help me please

The stud is the little silver thing in the pic

remove the clutch pedal assembly. one stud should be on the clutch master and the other on the pedal assembly if i remember correctly

Yeah you are right. But i cant even figure out how to take off the assembly. I refuse to search on these forums bc everytime i do the same dam things come up every time!

It looks like you beat up the remaining threads on that stud pretty bad, if possible I would suggest the double nut trick but you might be past this point and more importantly I'm not so sure thats a stud. It may be welded, seems it was on the 1g according to the guy in this thread

I'm guessing it is since I can't find a replacement stud for sale (1g or 2g)? If thats the case, your only option might be cutting it off the rest of the way, drilling it out, and installing something like a helicoil insert to mount that side of the master...

I feel your pain, this is how I do it now days, go to your favorite search engine (google, bing, etc) and type "site:dsmtuners.com" then a space then what you want to search, ex: "site:dsmtuners.com master cylinder stud"
my tip of the day :)

If I recall, one of the bolts is welded, I believe the one that has the nut on the firewall side.

I'm no expert but I believe you're right. May just have to grind it off flush and drill it out. Kinda a tight spot for that though. Maybe best to drill from the inside. Kind of a tuffy there.

That should work. Not sure why one is a welded bolt and the other isn't. Shouldn't make a difference.

Drilling it through from the inside seems like a good plan if you know where to drill.

you could try to weld a longer stud on the remains of the old one and then try grinding it smooth enough to mount.

i ended up cuttin it flush with a dremmel. took the assembly off. the stud was welded so i cut that to. put in a new bolt and bolted everything back up bled everything adjusted the clutch and now shes good :D thanks everyone
