Figured I may as well start a build journal seeing as I haven't updated my posts in the old system for a while. I've got a 97 TSi AWD that I've converted to a 2gb Eclipse, aiming for at least 600awhp on 94 + meth. Lets start with the specs:
Head:
CNC milled valve cover with two -10AN vent line bungs and a threaded oil cap
Ferrea competition plus valves
Manley dual valve springs and retainers
OEM rockers
Topline lifters
Crower 288/292 cams
Unorthodox cam gears
Kiggly HLA
Block:
ARP H11 Studs
BSEK
Manley Turbotuff I beams
JE Pistons
Cometic gasket set
OBX Oil pan
Gates timing kit
Oil pump
Water pump
Kiggly main girdle
Drivetrain:
ACT Streetlite Flywheel
ACT 6 puck clutch and 2600PP
Shep Stage 3 transmission
Air & Fuel system:
Shearer T4 top mount manifold
Garrett T67
2x Tial MV-S wastgates
Magnus V3 Cast Intake Manifold
Wilson 75mm Throttlebody
Tial Q BOV
Dual Walbro 255 fuel pumps
FIC 1450cc Injectors
VRSF Intercooler
JBDR Fab exhaust system and charge piping
Fuellab AFPR Kit
Fuellab -8an filter
Handling:
Blitz Technospeed Z1 wheels
Energy Suspension bushings
RM Racing Sway bars
DC Sports rear strut bar, no name front strut bar
Full front control arm kit
CTS-V front calipers, Evo X rotors
Misc:
JBDR Fab catch can and overflow tank
Fluidampr
Coil on Plug ignition with ARC-2 cdi
Prosport gauges & pod
Odyssey Battery
Sony double DIN DVD deck
Cipher Auto CPA2002 seats
Still have to buy:
Koni shocks and springs (Dennis Grant coilovers)
3000GT or Evo rear brakes
Front speakers, sub, amps
Now for some pictures from the very beginning at the end of 2010 to where it sits now. This first few posts will be a little clustered (not all the pictures are in quite the right order) but bear with me haha. The project originally started with a 97 GSX shell, and a somewhat-running 97 TSi AWD
First step was getting the motor and tranny out of the talon, as I need the tranny for the eclipse. (Originally thought I was going to build the eclipse, discovered rust that made me reconsider)
Motor in
Motor out
Delicious 7 bolt
Obligatory Person-In-The-Engine-Bay Shot
Next step was to strip down the eclipse engine bay and start work on the harnesses.
Swapped some parts over to the talon from the eclipse, and removed all the unnecessary wires from the harness. Just have to mock it up once I have the engine in to finish it up.
Then it was time for bodywork and paint:
