Figured I may as well start a build journal seeing as I haven't updated my posts in the old system for a while. I've got a 97 TSi AWD that I've converted to a 2gb Eclipse, aiming for at least 600awhp on 94 + meth. Lets start with the specs:

Now for some pictures from the very beginning at the end of 2010 to where it sits now. This first few posts will be a little clustered (not all the pictures are in quite the right order) but bear with me haha. The project originally started with a 97 GSX shell, and a somewhat-running 97 TSi AWD





First step was getting the motor and tranny out of the talon, as I need the tranny for the eclipse. (Originally thought I was going to build the eclipse, discovered rust that made me reconsider)

Next step was to strip down the eclipse engine bay and start work on the harnesses.

Swapped some parts over to the talon from the eclipse, and removed all the unnecessary wires from the harness. Just have to mock it up once I have the engine in to finish it up.





Then it was time for bodywork and paint:

The turbo, manifold, and wastegates are too large for a stock radiator! (Yes I know the turbo is upside down, just in for mockup) Gotta mount a VW Golf rad in the rad support

There's Talons everywhere up here in Canada, but you hardly ever see 2g eclipses. Plus I've wanted a 2g eclipse since my early childhood, so it was an obvious choice for me.

Thanks! It's actually Cayenne Red Pearl, a factory Mitsubishi color, but I love it!

painted the car and no side skirts!

Its ok if you want to swap it to an eclipse, but do it completley... It looks like and 2gb rs with a high rise spoiler..

It is done completely, I just don't have all the body parts mounted right now (side skirts, fender caps, front bumper). If you look close in the picture with the Supra you can see that it does have the 2gb sideskirts.

All the fab work is being done by JBDR, as he did all the fab work on my brother's MKIV Supra and it was phenomenal. I'm hoping soon to have pictures of my valve cover and catch can that he's done. I had the VC milled flat with vent line bungs and a new bunged oil cap welded on.

Holy cow, well thought out build man. That exhaust work is art! Keep them pictures coming.

Wow its looking awesome, and you were right - whoever is doing the work on the exhaust and intercooler piping is doing a phenomenal job. What are you planning on using to tune?

Car is gorgeous man! I have two questions though, what kind of radiator are you using, and what kind of muffler is that?

Thanks! For now I've got a 98 flashable ecu that I'll be running CeddyMods bigmaps with speed density on. Depending on if I run into any issues with it, I might upgrade to a full standalone like AEM EMS next year.

Thanks! I'm running an upgraded radiator for a MK3 VW Golf and it fits inside of the rad support with some custom mounts. The muffler is a magnaflow oval canister with 3" in/out, don't have the exact part number on hand.

Some low-quality go pro pictures, but pictures nonetheless! Talon is done at the fab shop, just needs some small final assembly (fuel lines, turbo lines, misc wiring) then it'll be time for it's first fire up in almost 4 years!

I keep comin back to look at the car. LOVE the build and the car itself. Probably the cleanest 2g builds iv seen in a LONG time. You sir, have a sick car on ## hands. Please go with AEM or at the least dsmlink. To much quality in here not to.
