I was sitting in my car today, wondering what would hold my interest after this. I believe battery tech will have advanced well beyond Li ion banks weighing a thousand pounds that only provide marginal range. Carbon nanostructure is opening up some amazing possibilities in energy storage...
I think it would be really fun to build a turbocharged hybrid with a bigass generator, super capacitor pack, and a high density battery bank... Have that feed a set of DC RE high density motors like Tesla uses... Just bigger, and backed by farad capacitors. The instant torque of a high power DC motor would either shred your tires or rip your head off... I'd love to find out which one it would be sometime in the future.
