Well per usual with my car, I fix one thing and something else arrises. i have had an issue with my cruise control not working well as I was trying to trace a wire and see where it went (which was pointless due to my computer being bad) I noticed my clutch pedal wasnt all the way out. I pulled on it a little bit to see if it would move and found out that my pedal would move.

well my first thought was clutch master cylinder was bad. Well so i watched everything as i moved the pedal in and out with my hand and found out that my clutch pedal has alot of play in it before it actually starts to engange the clutch master assembly.

So now i get to replace my clutch pedal assembly luckily Shepard Transmissions makes an assembly with brass bushings and is welded so looks my weekend project is gonna be to replace that. I love my car. haha

I'm sure its not gonna be an easy swap but its gotta be done. I'm just glad i have the money to fix it

I'm sure like most people on here who have pulled motors and trannys multiple times...the pedal assembly was not fun AT ALL compared to those! Didn't really take a lot of time just annoyance of being upside down. That link helped out a lot!

ya thats y i plan on making it a weekend job. I'm not planning on it being an easy thing but its gotta be done seeing as my clutch barely disengages right now.

Oh well I would rather get it done and fixed and not have to worry with it ever again while i have the time and money.

ya man good luck with it. I much rather pull a motor out than that clutch pedal out of a 1g. You should see a 2g clutch pedal..its like 4 bolts, takes like 10 minutes. Those bastards. Good luck though follow that step by step write up and you'll be fine. Like others have said, I would remove the front seat to give you some room. The underside of the dash too.

wow after looking at that guide i see there is way more involved swapping that than i though. oh well though its gotta be done. I will be happen when i can actually start my build.

well at least they learned from their mistake with the 1g's...LOL and i will definatly look into pulling the front seat. I will also make sure that i do follow the step by step process. Cause i dont wanna mess anything up. I just hope my in-laws dont get upset about me cluttering up there garage more than it already is. haha

I've done 3 1g pedal assemblies and didn't think it was that bad of a job. I've welded all of them and have no money in repairing them. Removing the driver seat is key. I'm a big guy too.

ya im not the smallest guy either so i will definately be removing the front seat. I dont think it will be horrible though, and will definately be a learning experience.

Well I changed the clutch pedal assembly Saturday, and all I can say is that I will never do that again and will probably never help anyone do it again. After many many cuss words were said and wrenches were almost thrown I finally got it done.

I'm just glad its done. Now I just have to make sure my clutch pedal is adjusted right.

I pulled one out of my parts car because some prick said he wanted to buy it, then the bastard stiffed. It wasn't fun at all.

Well had the idiot i bought the car from not pulled the spring off of the front of the clutch pedal assembly i probably wouldnt of had to replace mine. I really dislike retarded people, but I'm glad i got it done and dont have to worry with that ever again. I really like the Shepard Transmissions clutch pedal. I just gotta figure out now where my clutch pedal is supposed to sit at so i can make sure my pedal is adjusted right.

Oh and at some point I gotta pull my steering column out so i can put my steering wheel back on straight. Apparently it wasnt straight when i put it back on. haha

ya i know its easy i just gotta take the time to do it which is crappy cause i dont get off work from 7-7 and its dark when i go to work and dark when i get off work. i guess i will do that on my days off. LOL

It's not too bad, just a tough position to be in for any amount of time. If i remember correctly, it took me about 2 hours to pull and a little less to get back in. Like these guys said, find a good descriptive thread of the removal/install and follow it carefully. I did that, and it helped me a ton. Good luck, and trust me...the work is well worth it!
