I have searched and could not find what I am looking for in the results that popped up. I am in the process of a 2ga talon to 2gb eclipse conversion and I am not sure what to do about the wiring for the tails. I have read sooo many differents things to do and I dont want to cut anything until I am absolutely certain. (97 eclipse tails going onto 96 2ga talon.) Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I could be wrong here but I am almost certain that you should not have to cut anything?!?!?! The tails should mount to the same holes and use the same connectors. Again though I am not 100 certain but I do not see why mitsu n chrysler would change all that just for a set of visually different lights.

The easiest way to do this for me is to cut and rewire the lights. There should be only 3 circuits going to the rear lights. Parking lights, Brake lights and turn signal. Use a voltmeter to figure out which wires coming out of the care send voltage when a) you turn the lights on b) step on the brake and c) turn on the turn signals (this voltage will alternate; on and off). Then figure out which circuits are used on the Talon rear lights to do the same thing. Cut, solder and heat shrink your connections.

But what about the reverse lights? They are built in to the talon tails and eclipses are in the bumper. There is no plug for the reverse lights so obviously something needs to be cut

I'm assuming you're talking about my comment when you asked about what it took to do the conversion. In the write up it mentioned what I said about the three supports and moving the middle one up. I really don't remember all that I did, it was a few years ago. I eventually just got a harness off a donor car in a junk yard.

Instead of doing all this splicing can't you just use a 97-99 eclipse brake sensor that is located under the dash? Or is this process the only way to do this? My understanding to this all is that the 95-97 talons have a brake sensor which is different then the 95-99 eclipse.
