Hi i have a 97 gsx and i was wondering what speakers would replace the stock ones with no mods needed? I have the Infinity stock sound system. Can anyone link me to them? thanks!

The worthless dash speakers are 3 inches the doors are 6.5 inches and the rears are 6x9s

Crutchfield has nice equipment, but most of what they say won't fit really will. The front speakers from the infinity system are 6.75" woofers (most manufacturers will call them 6-1/2'-6-3/4') and the tweeters are technically 3" but they won't attach to the dash, as the factory tweeters are a specific shape and they just snap in. You should get the snap-in blank covers from the dealer. These are what was used by Mitsubishi if the car did not have the Infinity stereo. Then you would make a hole for the tweeters that you get with the aftermarket set and mount them into that. This way your new tweeters will just snap in. Practically all of the aftermarket tweeters are in the 1" area and will need a hole of just under 2".

The rear are 6"x9" BUT, there is NOT a lot of space behind them for magnet clearance. so you need to be careful on that one. In that case I would go with a Crutchfield recommendation. I still need to replace mine.

I got mine from USA Discounters, they had infinity speakers there and they are local where im at. Love crutchfield though. Like everyone else is saying most aftermarket 6x9 speakers will be too thick for the rear. I pulled my factory speakers out and hammered down the area behind the speakers with a 5# sledge. A hammer will work just fine though.

Actually there are non infinity dash speakers as well. But you can used the stock dash speakers on a nice system as long as you put in bass blockers. So you do not have to buy the delete covers.

My PO put in some Boston speakers. They sound pretty good. I just need to eliminate some of my rattle!

Good luck with that!:thumb:

The interior panels of Eclipses are kinda cheap, my RF sub rattles every single piece of plastic in that car, and I have yet to be able to locate more than 2 of the rattles.:banghead:

I think I'm going to draft someone to ride in my backseat, then curing rattles, have them press really hard on various panels until the rattle goes away. :sneaky:

Then hope it doesn't turn out to be a different part...

Sounds totally foolproof! Don't let them push too hard on the panels or the whole interior might fall apart. :beatentodeath:

Honestly if you are looking for something that "screws right in" you are wasting your time looking for new speakers. Speaker baffles, door sound deadening/sealing, etc. should be done and is WAY more important that what type of speakers to get. PM me if you have questions.
