Update. . .

Got the motor together and put back in, along with some other small odds and ends, such as powder coated some stuff, and cleaned up the wiring and deleted my ABS. Ill post pics when I can find them.

Update:

Got the oil cooler installed and lines ran, and cleaned up the rust on the frame under the radiator, and painted it. . .

Got her started, let her warm up and idle, then shut off and let cool. I noticed oil in the exhaust, so I did a leak down, and cyl 4 is leaking into 3 and 2 but not out the oil fill hole/dip stick. So that means the head gasket is not sealing. Took the head off and to the machine shop, and sure enough the guides are all bad and valves are screwed. This head only has 15k miles on it, and was built by SIM, very displeased. Anywho, it is in the process of getting rebuilt and and put back on. . .

Got some more goodies in the mail, battery relocation goodies!

More pics to come this week!

Also, here are some other goodies I powder coated. . .

Also removed my ABS last weekend, my abs didn't work anyways, so who needs it? I pieced together my own kit :). Hell of a lot cheaper than STM's kit.

Soon to come, finish the wiring for the battery relocation, and weld in my cage I am in the process of bending and making.

Battery relocation kit installed and operational. . . About as far as I got so far.

Nice build. looking forward to more pixs and info,.. What does the strokercrank + pistons cost ?

Pistons I got for new for $300, and crank was free from a friend.

Ok so update. Bought a new Eagle crank, and decided to paint my ugly ass transmission. Also fabbed up a downpipe for the holset setup. DONT MIND THE WELDS, I had my cousin weld it for me, as he wanted to learn how to weld and it was the only pipe I had and I needed it for my exhaust LOL. But anywho, function over form :).

I cleaned it really well, using 2-3 bottles of brake clean, 3 tooth brushes (I used one of my wifes, :D :shhh: ), 6 rags and half bottle of degreaser, and 2-3 hours. Then used VHT roll bar paint, self priming, and perfect subject.

Just wanted to update, motor is going strong, only 2k miles into the rebuild but pulls like a raped ape. Am currently making a t3 mani and bought a bullseye t3 housing for the hx40, so I will post pics of that shortly. Also am going to recage my car. Will post pics tomorrow.

Well decided to change setup's. The t4 is just too laggy for my likings, so I went ahead and bought a bullseye T3 BEP and decided to make my first manifold. Please ignore the mig welds, I don't have the skillset yet to tig weld a manifold. But hey, function over form right? Besides it will be heatwrapped.

Open T3, equal length.

Thanks man. I am leaving for Mexico on sunday for a week so unfortunately I won't be able to update until I get back :/

Car looks awesome, what rpm does the hx40 spool at? Also what type of mig are you using? You can get some pretty yet strong welds out of a mig if you have your heat turned up a little higher than the chart says along with your wire speed and pull while not moving the nozzle from left to right you have to kind of go slower so it fills out, it works good for thinner stuff. I got 9th in a state highschool welding competition. Also another good tip is with any kind of welding with exhaust pipe hold the pipe in your non trigger hand and rotate the pipe rather than trying to move the nozzle around the pipe. Hope I can help you out with your pipe welding some.

Thanks, I appreciate it. With this setup, it starts spooling at 3200ish rpm's, full boost atm (20psi) is about 4k-4200. Ill see if I can get a log here soon. As for the welding, thanks for the tips. I can weld, it's just for some odd reason this manifold was giving me hell. As stated before I found out my ground clamp was messing up, and only had few strands of wire connecting it, but it as since then been replaced and of course back to welding great.

Just an update, after 3000 miles, the compression test is 190 across the board, and leakdown results are only 4% across all cylinders!! Also the low end torque this thing makes is outstanding, I love it!!!

As promised, updates are coming, just have not had time lately, just bought a house and that is taking up my time :/.

Will post back soon :)

Well hurry the eff up with the updates!!! edit ah shit yea a house takes up a lot of time :hellyeah:

Ok, finally got my house mostly done, and can spend some time on the talon. Sold the Holset setup, wanted something a little bit more street friendly. So I went with a PTE 5857 DBB, billet wheel on a bolt on housing, paired with a FP mani.

Also to come, as promised, caged interior, and some other here and there goodies. . .
