ok just went to the store to get new pads for my 97 gst fwd and i got some duralast gold ceramic pads came home to put them on but dont fit. they are about an inch smaller than the pads i have now at about 5 inches long. the pads i have now are about 6 inches long now i bought the car used a month ago. is this stock pad size or did i get sold the wrong pads?

Who can tell?

No pics, no part numbers.

Either you bought the wrong pads, or they were boxed wrong.

Are your calipers single or dual piston? It's possible the previous owner upgraded to dual piston calipers in the front which requires a larger brake pad.

im pretty sure all turbo dsm's have a dual piston caliper in front and single in the rear. 95 talon awd only came with dual ply rear rotors. all 2g turbos have the same front brakes tho. like posted above^ more than likely the lil 17year old parts kid at autozone gave ya the wrong parts

^^Incorrect.
FWD turbo models from factory are equipped with single piston calipers.
AWD are equipped with dual piston calipers.
All turbo models have the same rear caliper.
And they both have different size front rotors.

The sales person probably sold you FWD pads, post pictures.

if you dont want to post pictures and just want to take care of it, take the original pads to autozone and tell them... I WANT THE SAME OF THESE!!! that way you save gas from taking so many trips, and walk out the door with the right stuff.
