I have a perfect 6 bolt with a 5 speed fwd full harness eprom ecu a full swap really.
I have 5k for a nice shell and custom fab work
It's getting hard to find a decent 2g or 1g for that matter, and I'm looking for a light chassy to start a good 6 bolt swap on. I've heard a few of those 90's Crx's with swaps but dam they are harder to find than 2g's.

Has anyone tried swapping the 4g into a 240sx that would be a cool project been rwd light and decent.

How about an fc rx7 my friend Luis canizales builds them so I could get a nice shell from him,and he works just down the road.

Any other cars that could be great with a 6 bolt that you know.

Has anyone tried it in a fiero if I could fit an ls1 in there surely you could cram the tiny 6 bolt in it and I've found a great 88 shell for just 500 LOL.

Anything light or cool and if you can post some links to projects that would be great
I intend to record everything and share the results

Thanks In advance

Also found a nice 944 Porsche for 500 bucks any info on that

The 4g has been put into many different platforms, here's the place to go for the comprehensive coverage on what trannies, blocks and platforms work well and how they people did them

:: Project Zero G ::

I use to sit on there dreaming about my 4g into some RWD setup or another until i finally just broke down and did th AWD swap on my GST, now i couldn't ask for a better chassis for the engine and trans (ubless i had an open wheel kit car with the AWD system shoved in as a rear enfgine setup :D 0

There are RX7s all over north alabama for dirt cheap. Would be pretty cool, awesome handling cars as well.

Nice that zero g has got me reading like crazy it doesnt seem to hard of a project knowing I can do most of the custom fabrication myself, only issue would be locating all the parts water pump mounts etc...I've got a couple of ideas from dsm sites and plenty of parts,LOL this will be a long project . I like the idea of the rx7 that would something different around here LOL ha matter of fact anything with a 6 bolt is different around here LOL!

What would be a 2000lb'ish shell I could use its not gona be an all out drag car btw. I know 1gs are great shells around 2k lbs but their so hard to come by. I wish I could find a nice one so I wouldn't have to find a good shell to swap LOL

I've got gauges wideband maf+t eprom ecu( v.3 coming soon) small greddy fmic and bov rc 850cc's 255 wally and a nice 16g I want to push on this project so its gona be a decent 12 or 11'ish dd

Your weights are off a bit there... .

If you take a look around on ProjectZ and else where. You will see probably the best route is gonna be. To pick up a Blown up Turbo II FC (personally I'd find a series 5 they look the best) as the trans with a B2300 bell housing, will bolt right up to a WideBlock 4g6x. Take note though that a regular 4g won't work like that you need one from something like a D50.

It will of course take quite a bit of Fab work still to do it But it can be as you can see below :D

I myself use to be into rotatory's for awhile. Back before I got into DSM's about 10 years ago. I've been considering doing a build like this for awhile Always thought it would be a killer setup. Seriously thinking this spring I might though. But, always end up dumping more $$$$ into My 1g every year instead so IDK... . LOL

Rotaries are easy to work on, maybe expensive but easy. It's tuning them that is tricky, you don't get as much room for error as you get with the 4g. Very easy to pop an apex seal or blow an oil ring if not knowing what you are doing. The cool part about them is you can over heat them with no consequences or drive on 1 rotor with a blown apex seal on the other LOL My next project is probably going to be another rota, already have an s5 motor on stand by in the garage collecting dust..

OP, a 6-bolt miata might be a cool swap also. They handle great, could be found pretty cheap and not as old as some of the other cars.

Well I love the 7's but experience has thought me how unforgiving those rotaries are with very few knock and a decent hp number, boom there it goes. it must be perfect of a tune. Also if you blow it only a few people on the entire u.s that can properly fix it like my friend Luis.now a 7 with a 4g that's something to talk about but the parts and custom Jobs would be way over my 5k budget.

Base weight for 1gs is around 3k but I'm talking about a shell no trans or engine so around 2k ish I reckon LOL.

I found a nice 98 gsx with a 6 bolt swap that threw a rod I think I found what I'm looking for.but now I'm interested in light weight chassis LOL if a Honda that weights 2200 with a b series with only 120hp can break into the 14s then a nice 4g with decent mods on a full weight of around or less than 2300 would be a monster (in another shell like the 4g Crx) (not meaning to start a bench
Racing thing its just a fact less weight =less traction but faster times)

thanks for the input guys

That looks mean as heck!! Gona start saving and reading on that LOL rwd 4g on a light chassis....just wow

Big power in a small package. Ive always liked rotaries but you better know how to work on them.

Easy to work on. Hard to tune. And shitty fragile engines with no torque.

There is an 1g shell on craigslist for 650 Ozy. I'd get that one. Its rough shape, but good price, lots of extra parts, its awd. Its 6/4 if Im not mistaken. Its a laser, so rare. If I had an extra 600 to spend atm it would allready be at my house.

Lol I've already have the 98 gsx with an already 6 bolt harness in my garage.
But heck couldn't hurt to keep a spare 1g + parts where is this car's location I'm still 600 under my original budget for the shell so that's a plus too.

*REDUCED* 1992 Eagle Talon AWD Turbo

Get it, and either get him to file for lost title, or file for abandoned vehicle title.

Man I've already talked to him about it but I had my friend scan the vin # at his dealer and its an out of state car so unless I move to florida I couldn't file for a title :/ thanks though

My project has been at a stand still for awhile. Its a 1972 240z 4g63, HX40, powerglide 8" converter and lot of other work and a lot more to go.

could always swap it into an 95-00 dodge avenger. or if you want a super sleeper, a 95-00 sebring coupe.
exactly the same as swapping a rs/gs to a 4g63.

then... also down the road if you wanted AWD, you can do that as well (same as swapping a gst to awd), just have to have a GSX driveshaft lengthened.

Find a 3rd gen or even 4th gen mirage/colt and swap it in there! Very light chassis. My stock 1.6 Dohc turbo colt (135bhp) moves for what it is. Imagine 2or3 times that power in such a light body. BEAST :) can even AWD it.
