I hope the rain holds off..Next time I rip it will be at the track :D

I just retorqued the head, which never seems to be off any of the times Ive done it. Its got a small oil leak at the drain flange that I should get to before I head for the 100 mile drive to the track. Im going to be running it at 32 psi for a back to back with the 3052

Get it fixed? Wouldn't want you to be causing traction issues for the rest of us...:)

I'll let Max give all the details as it was a rough traction day and had some issues. Nonetheless, he made two 10.47 passes at 130 & 131 mph yesterday. Congrats! Always nice to close out a season by besting previous numbers.

Thanks Phil. First pass off the street at 32 psi for a direct comparo to the 3052 it went 10.47 @ 131.8. Left soft at about 7 psi and cut a 1.79 60 ft. At the end of the pass I heard some banging. Convertor bolts were all loose so I tightened those up and went back for pass #2.

Set the tires at 19psi and the boost at 34..this time I got up on the 2 step and left at 22 psi and just completely fried all four bfg drag radials..so I shifted to 2nd and it just kept spinning...aborted run

Third pass left soft again to prevent spinning and this time it hit the rev limiter near the end and went 10.47 again at 130. It ended up pushing the rear main seal and squirted some oil on the track. Tried driving it home and ended up calling AAA to take me the rest of the way. Didnt want to risk it as it was still leaking oil. 9's next season for sure!

Mods over the winter:
New set of QTP's
Fresh Turbo4.com 2.3 with Turbo Tuffs and e85 10.5 pistons (thanks Bob!)
Vacuum pump
Maybe drop some weight as I was at 3025 with me in it at the track

~Max

Sweeeet. Mph up an easy three from the 3052 with pansy launch! Definately have potential once the traction is there.

Thanks Nate. Actually was up 4.3 MPH from my previous best of 127.5, but whos counting LOL

After testing on the street i knew I needed slicks but deciced to give the drag radials the benefit of the doubt..guess not

Heres the slip

I heard maxx, good job but also shitty at the same time. Sounds like an easy enough fix. I know a few people that want your 30r LOL

I went 10.68@133 yesterday. Wish I went to the rental though.

Why didn't you tell em all on the second pass you were 75 degrees pointed off to the right on the launch...:D Nice drivin!

^ Ha that was fun Phil! I really had no intention on letting off but it just kept sliding to the right. Never had enough power to 4 wheel slide on sticky rubber at the track before. Cant wait till next year

I see Max almost every week and as of this week the car is as it was after the last track day. No work on it so far. The car is super impressive...just a wheel and tire change off the 17''/drag radial and he's knocking on 9's door. That plus moderate weight reduction and it's a solid 9's car. However, I like the fact that it's totally streetable. Even more impressive is that the car is street tuned.

I kinda was hoping to pick Max's brain for his opinion on the oem 100mm crank vs the eagle 100mm crank in the situation we run.

My '13 plan is to also knock into the 9.9's with the streetcar 1gB. Seems iv been a few months behind max...and we were running very close times once we were both on the fp3052. Now I'm going up to the 2.3, but he's moved up to the 35r size compressor. Always one step ahead of me!

Haha.....I'm sure he will share with you whatever he can as for as your set up and goals. He's one of the best all around guys I know, let alone in I the dsm world.

Wow it's been a while since I've been on here.

Thanks Phil for the kind words man. Nate the stock crank broke on me as you know and eagle has held up so far but not enough testing under my belt as the season came to a close. Id go with a stock one if you could find one however.. Mine breaking could of been a fluke. Nate if you ever want to pick my brain I'm just an email away

I have a whole 2.3 shortblock here from a parts car (Ross pistons/eagle rods/oem crank) that needs new rings ("pro-builder" error...folded over a couple oil control rings on assembly)

I'm going to re- ring it and give it a go.

What mph are you crossing the traps at and what are you shifting at?

What ever happened to this?

I'm trying to decide between a bolt-on turbo or go T4, i want 140mph trap thru the auto in car that isn't tin-canned.

Max has a busy summer going so probably hasn't been up here.

The only thing I can say is that the car is up and running. As far as exact components, I'm gonna let him fill you all in.
