What do you know about NLTS? I've been searching but can't find what I'm looking for. I have it, and I want to shut it off. it's not done right and it's causing it to act like a rev limiter (i believe) car has a keydiver chip. PO told me to look into the NLTS to get rid of the limiter or w/e. Also has launch control. I love the sound of it but, I can definitely live without it. I looked to see if there was a wire connected to my clutch connector and it looked like there once was but not now. How can I just shut it off? I've heard of something with the key? please help! really annoying that its rev is limited to like 6000 or 6500 (can't remember off hand, haven't driven the car in a month) this is while it's in gear as well.

A clip? please post a picture to describe... sorry for all the fuss.. i'm retarded about this thing. I appreciate the help. honestly, it means a lot. everyone on here has been so helpful with whatever.

Look under the dash at your clutch pedal and press it down. You'll see a tab on the pedal presses on a white (I think) plastic button. Behind that is just a plug. Unplug it.

Disconnect this, it should cure all problems. Not sure on cruise control operation someone may pop in with more info there.

Hope that helps :thumb:

Okay, WTF.... I looked up there, the prongs weren't even connected and then, when I connected them, didn't change anything. Also, the brake lights stayed on? WTF!@#$@#$@#$@#$ Someone please chime in, confused as all hell right now.

edit - on a side note, launch control sounds so dang sexy.

This video should help you understand more about the clutch cut feature. This video is intended for a 90 DSM but should still help you get a understanding on what is used for NLTS.

Clutch Cut Wire Install - 1990 DSM - YouTube

First thing first. Key diver made launch control and nlts work off the vss so that there is no need to run a wire from the clutch switch to the ecu.

Was your car originally a automatic? I once had a talon all wheel drive auto that I did a 5speed conversion on (this was a 2G tho) and when I got the feet pedals swapped over and dug into the chassis harness to retreive the clutch pedal position wire, I plugged it in and it made the brake lights in the rear stay stuck on.

It was a totall mind f@$k. I remember jus leavin it un plugged and that fixed my issue. But of course that was 2G and had no chip or and sorta nlts mod.

Speedo works, but my wires are green, and green and white...

It sounds like you have the wrong connector. The FSM shows the stop light switch as having green/white, and green as the wire colors. The clutch switch should be green/black, and black according to the manual.

Also, for some background information regarding NLTS, and Stutterbox for your Keydiver chip have a look at the link.

THIS my car WAS automatic, I should have mentioned this earlier.

Sounds like you need to just get under the dash to check it out and/or hook things up right... .

Sounds like you just don't have the clutch switch hooked up or it is to the Brake switch ??? and/or was hitting 2-step all the time. there are a few possibilities As I don't specifically know the code your chip has. most likely though.

If you have the clutch wire ran right with a strait wire to pin 104. You should have things how you want.(With the proper car wiring) 2 step and no NLTS.
Leaving things unhooked may not be the right way and could be a problem, not a solution.

Also, You shouldn't think that because your speedo works that you don't have a problem with it. The car could not be getting a VSS input from it as it's in the gauge cluster around the speedo. The speedo will still work fine if the VSS isn't or even just the ecu not seeing the signal. An you would be hitting 2 step all the time. Depending on the wiring in the car

Really bottom line an to get the best answer to what is going on you are going to have to get under the dash and figure out how things are for sure now and make sure they are right.

It's a bit late here... . But here is a post from Steve on what is going on and how things should be. That should give a better explanation then I can give tired right now LOL http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/1523818-post2.html

First thing first. Key diver made launch control and nlts work off the vss so that there is no need to run a wire from the clutch switch to the ecu.

Keep this in mind^^
The 1g ecu can be programmed to have 2step and nlts off of the speed sensor. Having the clutch switch unplugged would be irrelevant if that's how its coded in.
That's how i've always programmed it in

Like I said I don't know the code the OP actualy has... .

But as rts91tsi posted a link to Keydivers site, and as far as I know he used a code that used both for chips with NLTS...

See attached

The Op should just check the wiring regardless and VSS and report back it's pretty simple if they are in doubt just hook the clutch up as said... .

IDK my brain shut off a few hours ago signing off now :p

OP: You need to get in the car and take some pictures. I see this conversation didn't get any further than the few PM exchanges we had. Noone can help you dignose problems without knowing exactly what they're dealing with. You have 4-5 guys in this thread that burn chips and have been toying with eprom code on these 1g's for years. Your part is easy...explaining how the system is wired currently.

I will take pictures shortly, and there is NO non stock wire up there. PO said to me last night that, there is a black wire he snipped and if I reconnect them it will cancel nlts and launch control... so, what else can I do from that
edit- just took pics. posting them in less than 5
