You said you already broke 4 oil pans. I was referring to that comment not your eclipse. Cars that low in general do not make good daily driver. On the other hand, high horsepower DSMs usually don't make good DDs either.

Haha, ok. got it. sorry to misread.. yes, def not that comfortable on the big bumps - but everything is about tradeoffs, and to me I wouldn't have it any other way.. in fact, I plan to go lower once I find some 215/40s instead of the 225/40s I have now. just like the turbo/hp addiction, I have my own.. wider, and lower. . .

Because race car

So you telling us that now you don't like stance anymore? why?
There's far to many dsm's that are done up really nice other then the fact they have 4"s of wheel gap and it totally ruins the look of the car, plus its very anti-performance.

There's lots of different kinds of stance, the more extreme like huge camber and scraping rail is ya getting away from the performance aspect of things. But there's still drift cars that low that are fully functional track monsters and aren't by no means slow (that includes some vdubs and honda's)
animal8's 2g is a prime example of fully performance stance and is done very nicely (love the rims by the way Animal8). You could still go lower yet and be very much performance inspired, the dsm community is very closed minded community I've been noticing, that probably why we get so much hate from other communities I guess.

this made me LOL

Richard33 your car is bad ass, but it sure doesn't make me miss high HP fwd DSM's LOL. Almost 700 wheel hp and the car goes 10.90's (sick mph of course, I used to have a 12 sec Laser that trapped 129). My buddy's Fox body Mustang that probably weighs the same (if not more) made 331 wheel hp and went 10.91.

Absolute killers on the highway, but man fwd sucks at the track:(.

Edit: 33mph from the 1/8th to the 1/4, that bi*** is RIPPING on the big end!

Ya it really does suck. It makes for a good challenge. Those passes were on junk tires and with the 5speed. If I can get the car running long enough with the auto to make a full pass it should go a lot quicker and faster. I have a 26x8.5x15 slick now.

Understandable. It's never been appealing to me but if it works for you that's all that matters. Good luck with the lowness.

Sorry if I'm late on this one but I just stumbled across it. I just read this entire thread. I laughed, cursed, & laughed again at some of the comments. To keep it real. Opinions are like ass holes. Everybody has one. Op don't change your out look. Some people on here had some real solid advice when it comes to a Dsm. I've pretty much been in more than one car scene in my life time ex: Lowrider, Rice rockets, VIP look, & Stance. Now I'm into performance. I own a Stanced 2011 Honda Civic & a 92 Eagle Talon Tsi Awd I'm currently building. In San Diego we have all types of car scenes. It's safe to say we all have a natural love for cars. What it boils down to, to me is what I want since I'm spending my hard earned money. Therefore, everybody elses opinion really doesn't matter but niether am I closed minded. I take in account to what people on this forum is saying because there's alot of excellent information to be obtained on here. Will I let another person's opinion change the way I feel about certain things conserning my car? No but listening is always a good tool. This forum is about performance. Stance can be a part of performance if it's done correctly as well as it looking good. Do I like the Stance look on my cars? Yes. Will I compensate performance for it? No. Will I try to safely merge the two? Probably so. What it comes down to is time, self gratification, & the money to get it done correctly as far as I'm conserned.

Will you learn to break long, rambling paragraphs up so they are easier to read? Probably not.

:)

I'm impressed that you had that much patience. I got one sentence in and moved on. LOL

This isn't a wheel fitment thread, but tons of people use them.

You can make sure the lug nuts are tight. Other than that, they are direct fit.

Bling!!! Check out these rims! I picked these beauties up for $49.99 each, on sale at Pep Boys.

The "Stance" was carefully engineered as to allow me to auto-X, run a sub 12 second quarter mile, or even pull in a driveway without anything rubbing.

I bet they're nearly as sturdy as Rotas! :p

Dufuq. This is still going?

Since you bumped it 12 days after the last reply, I'll assume "yes".

Yes I can claim it started in Northern California and I was there from the beginning of it all. I have no problem being lumped in with the true HellaFlush guys because they are in my opinion some of the most attractive cars on the road. Most of us race and drive our cars and they aren't trailer queens or garage queens. We take great care of our cars and expense is never an issue, we have the best of every thing available and many of us such as myself have pioneered parts for our specific vehicles. The suspension, a lot of the CF parts and many other items on my car were created specifically for me and now its available for everyone. List goes on and on.

I can't worry about others peoples ignorance. The same applies for being called a "DSMer" Out side of these forums being called a "DSMer is usually a negative connotation. Our reputation for the type of people we are and cars we drive aren't very flattering but am I gunna let that affect me? Just because some ignorant asshole has an opinion on something he knows nothing about, I can't live like that LOL.

I allow my RX8 and my other flush cars I have built to be called HellaFlush because it is. I run 17x10" wheels with sticky NT01 DOT track slicks, stitch welded frame, AP roll bar, AutoExe full under-body carriage bracing, progress-tech front and rear racing sways and AP racing end links. Tubular K member, imported and rebarreled HK$ HiperMax (yes its spelled that way) coilovers, JIC 6pt front strut bars, 4pt rear bars, 3pt floor bars and 2 pt trunk bars. MM turbo kit, BHR ignition/cooling system, HKS Titanium single exit and a sh*t load of one off REAL carbon fiber pieces made for the car... And I'm purposely not listing crap because the list is too long..

I laughed, hard, when people dared talk to me about how HellaFlush cars don't perform. ALL of us have HEAVILY modded cars and from a performance standpoint would out shine 90% of the cars on this board. Just because we like our cars to look good and attract attention people assume that we neglect performance. What DSMers need to realize is you can have BOTH. :aha:

I get where you're comin from and yes a few bad apples can spoil the barrel but that goes with anyone else. We are actually excepted on sites like Supra forums, Evos, STis, sites where owners tend to have more money, or nicer cars to begin with, the mentality of DSMes in general is normally "budget" so they tend to hate what they can't do or have convinced themselves they don't like for whatever reason. I really can't put my finger on it and can't think of a reason to try. I don't think the crowd will ever change as it seems it is getting worse but to each their own.

Sorry for the life story LOL..:p

:applause: i agree.
