As a side, what the heck made that hump in the hood on the passenger side, mid way down? Did you blow off an IC pipe and have it slam into the bottom of the hood?[/QUOTE]

I have the same thing on my hood, just not as big, previous owner must of shut the hood to hard and it hit the BOV or something.

Not sure what made that bump in the hood. I bought the car like that but it was completely stock. I think something fell on the car previously and they hit too far back out creating the bump.

Yeah, I bought mine like that too, but mines from the BOV, the P.O. didn't have the best IC pipe setup.:banghead:

What about a chrysler emblem for us plymouth guys... a pentagon with a star to all corners so the star is dark and the open spaces are illuminated.

Gonna try this out later today. I like the idea of it.

Yeah its got a ton of positive responses so far. People out and about have liked it alot.

Go for it.... post the pics after you get it done !

lovin the fmic man.. looks real aggresive.. (maybe its because your bumper is cut haha)

back on topic, i like the emblem, its different.. but also im like "uhhh , its still a neon light :coy:" haha.. Kudos tho!

I decided to go a bit further with the front bumper customization. I really like the look of the pipes on the sides and the bumper covers all that up. So I cut top part off as usual but then trimmed out 2.5 inches on each side trying to stay with general curve that was there before. Came out pretty good i think and completely solid. Of course the new paint job didn't hurt either...

Honestly I thought this would look stupid, but really like it. Good job man!

Thanks. Believe me, I am a puritan when it comes to cars. Clean ,blank and no stickers or neon.
But this felt like a nice touch and it worked out well

A friend of mine is going to do something like this to his MR2. He actually got the idea from the T badges on the Prius.

So heres mine. i did it last night, only took me about an hour. Ill write up something if anyone wants me to. No rivets, clean look. I built a small box for the leds to sit in to help control where the light goes. Picture is kinda blurry but you get it.

how did you attach the box to the underside of your bumper and still hold the LED's in position

You could make the box that hold the leds out of plexiglass..But then how to seal it in the front would then be the issue..And if You didnt get waterproof leds. You will need a tight seal.

It looks good man! glad to inspire. Im sure yours looks cleaner though without the rivets. Im actually going to turn my screws around and push them from the inside and just cut them off and smooth over the holes. But thats down the road. Dont really feel like pulling that bumper off again for abit.

like this. i didn't care what it looked like since it was going to be hidden. i was originally going to use jb weld to hold on the box but instead i used hot glue. It holds really well(i tested it) and the cure time and WAY quicker. On the dimensions i used, the box sat perfectly flat against the underside of the bumper.

I totally dig it! I didnt think about hot glue at all and I have a gun sitting in my closet too. Very nice man, simple and clean. Good job!

Thanks man, also to throw this out there. I wired the leds to the fog lights since they were already pre-wired instead of running new wire. Gave me a way to turn it on and off whenever i wanted.

Thats what I was going to do originally but I had an old kill switch in my car from my DVD player so I wired through that and ran to the tail lights instead. Now I can kill it with or without the fogs being on. Any combo. With the headlights or parking lights on.

Good idea,i might use your method then. Makes more sense instead of running fog lights all the time. Even though mine aren't hooked up currently.

well not sure of the cm conversion but the emblem size is about 2.5 inches on all sides. But I think the home made version looks better. That's a stick and paste emblem that will most likely look tacky

You may be right but I like the laser effect bit, its cheap so I will see once I get to measure it up, I just dont want to cut holes in the bumper but I will get away with a small hole for the wiring on this emblem.

Also is that measurement from center out or from tip to tip of the diamonds? I always thought they were an exact size all round but when they replied with a different height to width now im not so sure unless I get more info from them

I posted that link for people who didnt want to chop up their front bumper but some people felt like that was an insult, which one wasnt even stated. Its completely removable and cheap so if you dont like it or the local law doesnt either you could pull it without leaving a hole.
