Has anyone ever tucked their power steering? Everyone just deletes it, but I like having it. I searched for it, but came up with nothing.

Never heard of someone doing that. Honestly it would be a pretty big pain. The only way I would see it working is if you took out your A/C compressor and ran it from that belt behind the block and then run custom routed hoses up to the stock locations.

But if you are going to go through all that trouble, just stick a supercharger back there instead. I think you'd like it more than not seeing your power steering...

EDIT: Or you could do a battery powered power steering pump and mount it wherever you like. I've never seen one for our cars though so you'd have to find another reputable vendor from somewhere else...

I think most people that want to do that just go with an MR2 electromechanical powersteering setup.

If your just talking about the lines on the driver side, I have heard of people getting new lines reran inside the fender well.

Or u can maybe do something like in my avatar pic. Using a neon pump and lines. They run under the motor and trans. But will Probly have to do fab work to fit your car. An added bonus the resivor sits on top of the pump. Its clean and simple . The pump is right of the intake in the avatar pic it has a yellow fill cap.

Its a cool idea and would be awesome to see pulled off, properly. But it really isn't practical since there's no good way to do it. Not as easy as hiding wires. This idea is very limited and not only do the fluid lines not flex very much, but you'd have to be conscious of where the lines are and what is near them, such as higher temp producing components, sharp metal, moving parts, and so forth. If you can manage to do it, props... but I can see this being an idea lost due to lost interest or no patience.

I tucked the lines on my car. I wanted my strut towers to be clean. It was super easy. I ran my lines out bolted them to them behind the drivers side shock in the wheel well. My car was an ABS car so I had that big hole where the ABS unit and lines ran too and I ran the power steering lines up through there and too the resivoir. I also modified the PS cooler to fit infront of the driver side fog light hole. Some people delete it all together but I didnt.

Yea, 2 on learning how to bend hard pipes and do it the way you want it.
If you buy the tools, it will not be worthless which it will be help full on some other custom set up.

Search in here, there are some that have don it with hard pipes and re rout them by the wheel well and some other once in between the water pulley and frame, But I wouldn't go the water pulley location because it has not much clearance and will be a pain in the but to make it work, Unless you are good on bending that hard line,ROFL

Another solution is to reroute them inside the frame, But you need to use some kind of ss lines to get them inside and that will make everything more clean.

Unless you are talking about the Power Steering Pump it self, then the only option you have is to go with the MR2 pump, if you go this way, you will be able to choose where you want to mount it.

Look in here to get an Idea.:rocks:

Im doing a full build and I am in the process of rerouting the hoses and relocating the reservoir . im replacing the return and feed hoses with ss braided ones tucked inside the bumper reinforcement post. it is not hard provided you have the proper equip. I will post a thread on it once I get it done.

Just stumbled upon this thread, funny how quickly people are to say "work out" and "its to much hard work" when I did my wire tuck I did a full power steering tuck as well, it was super easy to do. The lines are re-routed inside the wheel well under the frame instead of going over the driver side shock tower.

When I did mine I didn't have to extend a thing. In fact I had to shorten a line. You can't just use any 'ol hose like heater hose or somethin, the powersteering oil will eat that kinda hose. I relocated it all using every bit of material that was already there with the exception of the front mount powersteering cooler. I'd post pics but I'm replying via blackberry cell phone so its a pita. I have pics in my profile tho.

Its not hard to do at all, and it does clean the bay up a $hit ton.

Only a dumb dumb just removes the PS pump and calls it a day! A car that was intended for power steering has to have PS duh. The only way to remove it correctly is to convert the steering rack from "power" to "manual"

Trust me, a tuck is a whole lot easier than removing your rack, welding closed fluid holes, indtalling grease zerks and filling with grease.
