Any info on AIT / boost level without an intercooler?

Only ran a 3 bar map, but it would spike about what the map would read anything under 6k, it would fall to 26-27 at 8k. Forward facing also so that worth somthing. IATs were in the 280-300* range by the end of the pass

That's higher than that IAT sensor will reliably read, if it's the GM/AEM style sensor in the pics from the build thread. How far into the run does it max out?

It is the gm style.. I don't have a log in front of me, but it levels out around 280* I'm fairly sure it's around 1000ft when the temps stop increasing at a linear rate.. I was thinking that the temps are probably still going up and the sensor can't read that high.. On my engine dyno when I was doing pre-compressor tests and logging with a innovate Ssi-4 and the gm sensors, they would max out at 250*. I thought this was due to a setup issue with the Ssi-4, and didn't think much of it cause I was looking for changes anyway and didn't care what the number was. Not sure what that means in this situation, but thought it was worth mentioning

I would love to hear your thoughts on air density / power / fuel vaporization with methanol in regards to hotpipe vs intercooler. Iv been batting it in my head for a while, but plan to stick with the liquid IC.

Lol the car weighs 2240 lbs... 600lbs is quite a bit different. I think that makes up for the 1mm worth of compressor wheel

Awesome job guys! And not even on a true slick and with a worn out turbo! Wish I could've been there to witness it. Keep up the good work!

Thanks man! next spring you'll have to "borrow" Paul's tires again and we'll go break some records.

Thanks for all the kind words guys!

Any plans for changes over the winter? I'm still interested to hear your thoughts on inter cooling & methanol.

Removing weight, car is all steel and full glass yet, the doors havent been gutted either. Have to get some better looking paint on it over the winter. I was running 60# base fuel pressure to keep my injectors in check. I'm either going to just put 2150s in it, or add 2 more up stream some where. with the dyno coming, I'll be able to move the injectors around and try to find the best placement. Might play with some pre-compressor water/math stuff as well.

As for intercooling with methanol. There is power to be had here for sure, I've seen posts where around 3% was gained by adding an intercooler. In this situation where i'm upwards of 300* IATs I think there could be increases that are more than that. Weight would also play a role with the high hp v8 guys where an A2W setup is necessary. For me the a2w isnt needed, but note worthy. The air being this hot (in my situation) does have some advantages to atomization.. I dont really have a solid answer for whats best because I dont have any hands on experience with adding an IC to a methanol setup like this and i'd rather not take wild guesses. I think there is power to be made with some trial and error on this subject.. maybe a water/meth setup at the compressor outlet would net the largest gains without the added weight of the ic and its plumbing. I do plan to test abit of this stuff (as much as time and money allow) over the winter.

Take some weight out set the goal for mid 9s.

Mid 9s probably wont happen, but i'm going to give everything I've got. Maybe with the perfect air, track and about a 10 mph tail wind. LOL
