Nice runs bro, you are right behind we're I was in my gst before it went boom. I still feel my setup also had 11's in it, but moving on to a much different build. I may run the 16g on my gvr4 later on see how far it gets me on that thing.

Well after reading as much as I could on this thread, I have gone FWD after years of having AWD DSMs street cars and I'm having fun.

I bought a 92 Eagle Talon TSI fwd 5 speed, the car came with a 6 point roll cage which was the big deal getting this 1g. I had a AWD 2g street car that I traded for to get this beast because my plans really is to drag race the crap out of this car and hopefully get some sponsorship.

I plan on going Automatic with this build and my goal is to hit 10 seconds. I don't care how/what/when I get there but I'm going to shoot for that goal because I always wanted to build a car that was a straight up beast and going to do it on a FWD:thumb:

The car looks rough but everybody has to start some where, so here she is at her state right now:

Obviously from the wheels I posted I don't want to spend over $800 on just two wheels that I may use a total of 5 times in one year if that. If I didn't have 15's I would just use stock GST wheels.

It seems low offset 15in wheels are hard to come by. Unless they're made to fit a Jeep Cherokee or something. Then the offset is too low.

Other then the usual specific drag wheels like the welds, all I seem to be finding are wheels in Honda offsets in that size.

Also, mustangs and ford rangers are 5 x 4 1/2 and back space is 3.75 which is what I have for my 1g. Don't need a expensive wheels for drag racing, you can get wheels on a budget, you just have to find the right ones.

Here is what I'm using:

U.S. Wheel 94 Series Black Modular Wheels 94-5812 - SummitRacing.com

Nice, those would look pretty good. I got a deal on some Slipstreams though. Already got the slicks mounted. Though they came a day too late, day after the last track day.

Had my fwd out for the first time on the 14b oct 13th. Day went fairly well for the most part. Got the car to consistently hitting mid to high 1.6s. So the 1.65 was my personal best. All this was with just first gear burnouts since I didn't wanna break an axle. Also bested an 11.3@121 on the 14b.

I noticed after the race that my tires where spinning on the wheels. So after the race I changed the slicks over to a 9" wheel from the 8" ones they where on. I also installed wheel screws. So next time out I'll get a bit more aggressive on the launch and see if I can nail me some 1.5s

Just went 10.8@140-first time out, tuned at the track- drove it there and back! SUPER simple set up-

100% stock trans/Open diff
bone stock head
A pile of parts I had laying around
one 255, 780cc injectors Maxed out.
5 passes worth of tuning-30psi (out of fuel)
On dry rotted slicks!

And to show the importance of a LSD in a FWD car-watch this!! LISTEN, and look at the pass. side tire.

JP's Colt/Mirage - YouTube

It has the street tires on the front-so that would prob be when the boost controller was still not working. I'd guess13-12.xx @around 130mph. Most runs on the street tires were aborted or just boost check runs since my controller set up was fubar'd

And interesting that its spinning the LEFT tire only-you can hear it spinning the dogs off in 1 and 2, but clearly see the right tire not moving!!!! I guess I never realized how bad it was-I would have assume both tires would at least be trying to do something....OMG

So Miguel BIG thanks for posting that! Learn something every day.

I forgot to post this here but I made the jump to Slicks and skinnies on my FWD. 13x8 Bogart Racing Fly-Stars with 25x8.7x13 M&H Racemaster slicks up front and 15x3 Bogart Racing Fly-Stars with 24x3.6x15 M&H Racemaster skinnies in the back. Now I'm just hoping to make it back to the track this year.

Thats a nice MPH. What RPM are you going through the traps at?

On a 6262, right?

I am on 8200 Limiter at 140 on the baby 22's-Not going to push it with a stock head!

Yes, JB6262. Still a LOT left of the table in terms of power-between boost and Fuel I am confident there is another 100whp in the set up before I do any headwork.

Colt - v band manifold is the way to go! Very nice manifold. I had one very similar on my Evo 9 with a BB 6262! The v band spooled 200 rpm faster than a T3 manifold with the only other difference being compression ratio on the car it was compared to...and my compression was slightly lower!!!

Keep it going! Can't wait to see what she'll pull with more than just those baby injectors and some tires with some life in them.

Your only 3 tenths off you last colt ET and ~8-9mph already!

Getting me excited to roll out with this 71mm turbo on a big cam 2.0 and 26" tire.

ET and 60' will be garbage but it should MPH like a motherf*cker haha

Hoping to have some results here sooner or later..

I like your setup other than the fuel pump/filter. The downside of your setup is the distance between the tank and the pump along with the height of the pump in relation to the pickup point on your fuel cell. Unless you have a check valve inline, then the pump will be starved of fuel for a split second every time you prime the system...thus probably causing premature failure. If possible, I would look into relocating the pump lower in the engine bay and/or closer to the fuel cell sump! Just my .02 from setups I have seen. Otherwise setup looks sick...and beastly!

Ya I've had some reservations about the pump location as well.

The 4303 is a big sucker, and I'm having a tough time finding a better spot for it.

10lbs in a 5lb bag, etc.

It's supposed to be self-priming, and the regulator doesn't bleed off pressure from the rail so I'm hoping that won't be a problem since it should then always have fuel in front and behind it. Only one way to find out though I suppose.

There's also the Main Tank with a 340LPH pump in it that feeds the Surge Tank the 4303 draws from, and even though I have a -6 Overflow/Return line from the Surge tank back to the main tank its yet to be seen whether or not that little -6 will be able to return fuel back to the main tank faster than the 340lph pump and the regulator return can fill the surge tank.. Hope that makes sense

Maybe that will help a bit if I trigger the intank pump for a minute or so before flipping the switch on the 4303 and cranking the motor.

I still have to plumb in another small in-line pump for the nitrous provision, should I choose to use it and then I have to tuck a water/meth pump and tank in the bay as well.

I know-and yours looks good as well! I was surprised considering the first pass of the day was a 13.7@115! ROFL Thanks Halman!

By far the nicest part on the car-I got it for less than what you'd get a China Manifold and a Used 6262. When people are desperate for money, they always know who to call for a low-ball! :thumb:

See that's what I love about turbo cars.. turn a little dial to pick up 25mph and 3 seconds ROFL

Wheel screws? I probably sound dumb but im drawing a blank. LOL

Yup. You install the screws into the rim and into the bead of the tire to prevent the tires from spinning on the wheel.

Jp those timeslips make me jealous. I had about 5mph on you at the 1/8 but could never get a full pass due to a bogus 4th gear. Good chance I couldve hit the 145mph mark on a clean 1-4th gear pass. That was also on a PTE6262. Might have to give it another shot when im done with the 14B.

Nice. What tire? With what it went on a stock trans/open diff/22 inch slick-there is a good .5 ET and a few MPH with just a tire change and a Phantom grip!

like'n the 6262. :)

AWD trans and 26" slick. Was going 7.0-7.1 in the 1/8 at 108-110. That was on 27-28lbs of boost and 11.1-11.4 afrs

Have you weighed the car yet??
