Is there a difference between turbo and non turbo cam gears? Also is there a plus side to aftermarket cam gears with stock cams? Did a search came up empty handed. Im fairly new to dsm cars i ruined my first one so im seeking help.

All the 4g63 DSM cam gears are the same in respect to the numbers of teeth. The early 2g intake cams gears are different due to the cam position sensor.

The adjustable cam gears allow larger cams to be dialed in for greater camshaft timing accuracy. Not something you should be worrying about with the stockers.

You should be able to sorce a stock cam gear fairly easy.

Replace the wobble one.

You can use 1g or 2g, turbo or NA

There is a slight differance between 1g and 2g in the offset, appox .020 but it will still be fine.

There is an odd one, like stated above, a 2g intake cam gear, with the CAS on the front of the head.

Try to keep it as a matched pair, 4 spoke or 5 spoke.

I 've heard before but personally haven't tried it that you can get little gains by playing with phases of the stockers via cam gears - advancing intake and retarding exhaust a few degrees for more overlap and overall flow so in this sence it may not be completely useless. Considering that the OP needs to source a gear anyway and that an adjustable pair of knock off ones can be had for about hundred bucks on ebay, this is something to consider especially if you plan on more mods in the future.

There's a difference in the 1 g cam gears that I've noticed between turbo and non turbo, the pin hole is different will this matter? The non turbo is more of a notch cut out while the turbo is a circle. I also noticed with my valve cover off that my cam gears are not parallel to each other is this normal or is somthing really wrong here..
