So, trying to find a 1990 sunroof for a reasonable price is somewhat difficult nowadays. So i decided to try and find an alternative solution.

The weather strip worked out perfectly, height and width!

There are 6 fasteners - 2 front 2 rear and 1 each side. Its not finished yet, im going to throw of that carbon fiber vinyl crap on it and how that works out. Car is garage kept not worried about sun exposure on the cheapo vinyl crap.

The sunroof frame assembly is a two piece, interior and exterior , they basically sandwich the roof and screw together.

I did dzus fasteners so i could swap it out with a piece of lexan later, or even take it out and cruise around at night.

Looks cool so far, and well done good idea man. I'm in for finished pics.

BTW, you still running those ebay sleeves on your car?

I still have many projects I suppose, I still want to do the power steering eventually but i have for the most part grown to live with it for now. And yes I do still have the eBay coilover setup, I need new struts all the way around (they were all blown to begin with) And even though I personally haven't had any major issues excluding fitment , theres too much negative feedback to ignore. So since income tax is right around the corner I may go with a more common suspension setup that is proven. I'm at the Ass end of a paint/body work project as we speak , after that's done ill tackle the next issue in line !

Has not been weather tested get, however the weather stripping I have seems to be really durable stuff, didn't want to stick to the frame very well but I believe its on good now. I have weighed it yet either but the sheet is about 1/16" , really thin stuff so very very light no more then 3lbs if I had to guess I suppose ? Don't quote me on it though ROFL the weight savings is great but I mainly did it to plug the hole for nearly free seeing as I had the materials available.
