okay.. i dont have many mods at all on my gs-t,
a turbo back exhaust, stock T-too slow turbo, injen intake, and fmic with a crushed evo 9 bov.
stock injectors and pump for now,
i have a safc 2 installed, but everythings "zero'd out"
AEM tru boost guage,
and mtx-l wideband
running 15 psi

i do have one boost leak in one IC piping coupler.
anyways,
at cruise and idle my AFR is between 14.5-15.0
but as soon as i hit WOT my afr goes to 13.0!!
so of course i let off the throttle,
but im not understanding how/why?!?!

only thing i can think of is maybe the fuel pump?
but if a stock system can take 16psi with the t-25.. idk

any ideas? thanks.

lso, i have a CEL for a fuel Trim Bank 1.
i replaced the front o2 sensor, ran fuel treatment and changed plugs. (bpr6es)
still nothing. =[

What AFR are you shooting for? I have 0 experience with the safc.
Do you have any exhaust leaks?
I would make sure to have stock boost until you can tune with your safc.

hey, just something safe. like 11.1
the safc is installed, but no "tuning" settings have been touched. its basically just sitting there until i get everything worked out.
and im pretty sure i have no exhaust leaks, just boost.

well first off your not leaning out it if it drops to 13.0/1 that would be getting richer anything higher than 14.7/1 would be running leaner. do you immediately let off when you see it dropping into the 13.0/1 range? stay on it a little longer and see where it stops at WOT. i have a similar problem at WOT my wideband pegs 10.0/1 which is super rich.

Start off by changing your fuel filter. If that does not fix it, get another fuel pump. You are way too lean for stock under boost. Any boost leaks would make the car run rich under boost rather than lean.

JMD - yeah man if i stay on it, it'll pull to like 14 AFR. so i immediatly let off.

DSMdirkah - ok i can do that. never hesitates or nothing, but its cheap. it wont hurt to change it.

oneslowdsm - it came like that.

and seems like everything is crashing on me at once.

first that lean issue..
now, my clutch is acting weird.
when driving in like 3rd/5th and try to take it out of gear, its hard to get out. and if i press the clutch it almost goes to the floor.
but if i push it in, and let go, and press it in again to change gears, its fine?
so im not understand.. my guess, either it needs to be: adjusted, bled, T.O.B

ughhhhh, just being a dsm.

It's not "just being a DSM".

It's your mods, extra boost, and lack of fuel support. Maybe some cars can get away with running 16psi with stock fueling, but every car is different. Not only that, but you admit the car has a boost leak, so it's not running properly to begin with. Before you do anymore WOT t00ning, you need to do some maintenance and fix your shit.

And your clutch issues sound like hydraulics, another maintenance item considering the age of your car.

And people wonder why these cars have such a bad reputation. The issue is poor maintenance, not "just being a DSM". :ohdamn:

Amen

OP:
Check your master and slave cylinders for leakage. I'm betting the seals are taking a dump. Also, check the lines and fluid level.

Try running wastegate pressure (10psi or so) and see what happens to your afr. This is a quick way to determine if your fuel system is not keeping up at higher boost, or if something else is going on.

dont get me wrong.
i love dsm's.
my buddies around here have dsm's and,
this is my 2nd one. i just got the car as is.
even from my gsx, it would run perfect for a week, then down for another 2 weeks =\..

and the master cylinder is new, but idk about the skave, ill replace it.
but i do have a SS clutch line thats WAY to long (installed by previous owner).

and okay ill try that boost thing you suggested, thanks.

AND ANOTHER ISSUE ....=\
i was driving, getting on the freeway and i went into a little boost in 3rd getting on the on ramp, and my turbo sounds like a light saber or something, and it smokes only in boost. so im guessing the seals are gone, cause theres no NO shaft play.

I'm betting the problem is you have left your afc settings zero'd out. What you are doing when you hook up a safc you are taking the maf signal wire hooking it up to the safc and it is giving you a way to "tune" the maf. If you are not going to be tuning the safc yet then why even hook it up? When you installed it you cut the wire going to the ECU for the MAF signal and hooked up both ends to the safc. I would either connect the MAF wire back together like it was before you installed safc or follow this guide and try to tune it yourself. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-tuning-ecu/58403-definitive-piggyback-tuning-guide.html If you do either of these things and there is no change and it still goes lean under WOT, you might possibly have a bad fuel pump, bad fuel pressure regulator or fuel leak. To tune correctly you need to make sure you have no boost/vacuum leaks and no pre-turbo exhaust leaks.

It's an old turbo/awd car. Get used to it. It happens to all of them, DSM, GVR4, Evo, Subaru, etc. They require maintenance and know-how.

you guys are awesome. thanks so much, ill give feedback as soon as i get paid and buy a bigger fuel pump.

also, could the really long clutch line be my problem with the clutch acting weird?

hey guys just leaving feedback.

clutch problem is fixed.
my clutch master cylinder rod wasn't adjusted properly. its set good now, and its perfect.

still lean under WOT. but im looking for a wally 190 so i can throw the injectors on and tune, that way i can put the safc to its full use.

again, thanks guys.
