Just replaced two motor mounts, still getting movement...

In high RPM, when I bump the gas I can still hear the motor shift around. I replaced the front, and front left motor mounts when I did the timing/water pump last weekend.

Could this mean that it is one of the other two motor mounts? Could it possibly be something else?

Also, I am seeking advice on what path I should take on the maintenance my car needs. :confused:

Problems: Car is lowered 2" on stock struts (Struts are leaking and rough ride)
Clutch is really soft. Still shifts fine, but needs to be replaced.
Still have the motor moving around in the engine bay in high RPMs or sudden stops

What should I do first? The car sits so low that my o2 sensor was pulled out of the bottom of the car and I had to spend 100$ to replace it, and I dont want that to happen again. I am barely driving the car, as I have a DD but I want to DD the talon asap. What should I take care of first? Struts or clutch? And whats up with the motor mounts?:hmm:
 
I would do struts and some Eibach pro springs that'll keep it at 1.5'' of drop rather than that 2''. JNZ tuning is having a sale on KYB adjustable shocks. Then maby pull the motor/tranny and do your mounts and clutch at same time
 
Check the rear motor mount. If its worn or missing the bolt, it will make noise no matter how new/stiff the others are.

To stiffen the clutch, try bleeding the lines and the slave cylinder. Also check the adjustment of the rod that goes into the master cylinder. But if the clutch doesn't drag I wouldn't worry. Some aftermarket clutches (such as South Bend) have a lighter than stock pedal feel.

For the shocks, they will need to be replaced with lowering spring friendly shocks such as Tokico Blue's. Replacing them with OEM shocks will just yield the same result in a year or so.
 
When I put it in the shop I asked if they would check out the clutch and see I needed to do some maintenance on it or just a whole new clutch altogether.

They said I needed a new clutch, but I dont think they really looked into the cylinders or bled any lines.

What should I do?
 
Get a buddy (easier) and bleed the lines yourself or find someone that would do it for free or cheap before buying a clutch. Taking a transmission out get's expensive.
It's what I would do. I burned a clutch once. One of the shifting cables came off the tranny, and left me stuck in 4th gear. Had to drive home like that hitting about four stop signs the whole way back... Smelled SOOO bad for days. A few days later I could start the car without pushing the clutch pedal down. Yea, got that bad.

First thing you should do is stop listening to shops. Not tryin to sound rude, but shops typically have no idea how to work on these cars and would rather charge you to replace the entire clutch than learn how to adjust the master. What do they care, it's your money...

The 2g clutch assembly self-adjusts so the clutch won't feel different as the clutch wears. A worn disk won't make the clutch feel soft anyhow as your pressing against the pressure plate, not the disk. So unless the clutch is slipping, your problem is likely in the hydraulic system. Bleed the lines and slave an see if that improves the issue. If not, adjust the master rod.
