That engine just looks nasty, again, in a good way. haha

Tyler that 16g is still on its last leg right?

yeah, it has def seen better days. LOL trying to make a couple passes before the year is out so, I haven't worried about it..

Cool Evap idea, I wanted to do something similar.

Not to hate, but why carry your exhaust piping across the engine bay? seems like extra heat and trouble doing that way...
Why not keep the stockish position and send the exhaust out the other fender and still make a velocity stack out the front? And not have to worry about the loopidy doo with the turbo outlet/charge piping...
And while you were at deleting rotating mass on the balance shaft sprocket, maybe ditch the power steering pulley as well??

You need that pulley, or at least a spacer to keep the alignment on the water pump/alternator belt.

Turbo placement was decided around a few factors. The biggest being my collector design, it takes up alot of space and pretty much deemed the stock location unusable. Next was where could I put the charger and have the least amount of bends (and shortest pipe) to the compressor inlet and on the Turbine outlet. As far as the compressor outlet having a 90*+ bend in it, that is obviously not optimum, not to mention its close proximity to the high temps of the header. On that same note, that bend has a decently large radius and also allowed for a more gradual transition to the 2.5" piping.

As for as the power steering pump pulley goes, already fix it, just hadn't posted any pics. cant just delete the pulley as 1990AWD stated, but I got around that.

Ahhh nice, Badass

Thanks man!

Update, John (viperlp01) and I started replacing seals, and air checking everything last night, found a couple issues with the pump seals. Hoping to have the trans back togather tonight, possibly back in the car in the next couple days.. If all goes well, might try to make a pass saturday..:thumb:

If not this saturday then maybe the following, a few things have to fall into place, time wise, for this to work out. We'll see.

What issue were trying to fix with?

It's supposed to help high rpm oil pressure drop as the stock regulator just dumps the excess into the head, and it gets caught up there by blow by. Mine seemed to have more oil pressure drop and defiantly got more oil in the catch can with the kiggly one.

Interesting, Think there was something wrong with it? I just ordered one today, guess ill try it out and let you know..

Think we've finally got the trans figured out. Made some short hits on the street, and the tune looks decent. Maxed out the 160# injectors so we up the base fuel psi a bit, and can go further if needed. Planning on going to 131 dragway Saturday. Try to make it out if u can!

Here is the time slip form the pass in the video. Made 4 runs, this was our best. We were fighting traction issues all day. We've got a few things to improve for next week, and we'll be at it again.

Very nice! Congrats!

Time for 14b now. ;)

Congrats! Can't stop there though!!

Extremely well thought out build :)

THanks Matt! That was the last TnT of the year, but i'm shooting for 9's with the 16g and no spray, pretty sure we can do it!:hellyeah:

A wicked small turbo build that actually went somewhere. Car looks great guys.

You don't happen to have any pics of the limiter setup do you??

I don't, but it's simple. Welded a tab to the control arm, and to the car. Put an ilet on the control arm with a long threaded end. Then put a chain from the ilet to the tab on the car.. If I have time over the winter I'd like make something much nicer.

Ok so you did have to weld onto the body. I have some very short procomp straps I've been meaning to use but haven't had a chance to bust out the welder. Was hoping for an easier solution.

Yeah there welded on there.. I was hurried a bit when I made them so I didn't take as much time on them as I would have liked

Just read the whole thread. Nice work!

Thanks man!

Our season is over at this point. Our plans over the winter are to remove some weight(gut the doors, fiber hood/hatch, and possibly some lexan). When our dyno shows up, fine tune it a bit, and play with a few things. Want to mess with water/meth injection both pre, and post compressor. Probably do some aero work under, and on the car. I also want to finish the roll cage. Our goal for next year will be to hit 9's with the 16g and no spray, also like to hit 140mph w/o spray. After we try for these goals we plan to put a 14b on and try for that record as well. I have thought about putting an hx35 w/bolt-on housing on it. By shootout next year we plan to have an FP Black on the car to run SAT. Thanks for all the kind words.
