I told him the same thing! It's the perfect vehicle configuration to go after Joe B's record an would only cost the price of a 14b.

Maybe someone (paul) should donate one to the cause once I get it back togather..:D

Got around to getting the short block finished up. Next project is getting some baffling made for the oil pan, and modifying the stock pick-up tube.

This looks pretty sick. I just have one question. The venting your doing on the bottom end Im kinda confused on what it is actually helping with? Im not doubting your skills just kinda curious. If it crank case pressure and it works great before i start putting my engine back together ill will have this done.

Yes, its for crank case ventilation. This setup works well for a couple reasons. Normally in a dsm all the crank case pressure is vented through the valve cover. This causes the air (blow-by) to flow up the oil drains to get to the head, which slows the rate at which the oil can drian back to the pan. Also, when running -10s out of the valve cover, hood clearence, somtimes is an issue. I've used this setup for a couple years now.

So with that setup, do you have the valve cover completely sealed off?

no, I use the stock side vent, and a -6 out of the pcv. As condensation evaporates it will rise. I left them there to remove the moisture from the engine that is created from heat cycles.

I got a bit more done last night. If time permits, i'd like to check piston to valve clearance, and get the head on and timed today..

Nice work!!!

I'm loving the crankcase mod. Will be doing this mod on my car also. Thanks for the write up with pics!!!!

Congratulations on your build.

Are your pistons off the shelf or special order, also would like to know manufacturer to see if they make same for a 2.3, this motor I want to build will be N/A.

Thanks

Nice work, and love the Evac!

4G61t's have this mod (BS delete pulley stock, so there should be an OEM part number for it.

Thanks man! as i was cutting this up. John told me about the 4g61 deal, I'll have to see if i can find the part # and maybe sell a few.

Finally got the engine all together. waiting on some trans parts so we can put that back together. Still thinking about making a cam change, and buying a kiggly oil pressure regulator. Set it all up on the stand for some pics.

Hope you like it!

I have one and I'm not sure that it helped at all. It almost seemed worse than when I was running a JDM regulator, but of course ymmv.

What issue were trying to fix with?
