This is probably a dumb question, but what is the part called that holds the front suspension in place and bolts up to the knuckle in a 1g? Does anyone know where i can find this part? :hmm:

I'm sorry I'm asking so much LOL, but what exactly does it do, and do you have any idea where the top hose went to?

Or if the top hose is needed*

No biggie I'll try and help as much as i know. It's for smog. All the canister does is takes the fuel that evaporates in the gas tank and feeds it into the intake manifold. So the hose on the bottom is coming from the gas tank and the hose on the top should go to the intake manifold IIRC. Its been a while since i took mine off. If you don't have to worry about emission testing and decide to remove it there are some good write ups here to help.

Now I have a question can this any way shape or form help with idle or anything and can it be eliminated

Hello everyone, Im hoping you can help me figure out the part number of the rear lower control arm on the left side. I went to autozone and have been checking diagrams but I cant figure this one out.

All the ones I found dont have the hole for the stablizier bar to connect. Any help would be appreciated.

Awesome! Big help guys, appreciate it, very timely as well!

Now the bolt on the back part of that "lateral arm" cant go all the way out without backing into the frame. So do you have to just cut it and buy a new one, or is there a magic secret?!

Also if anyone knows where I can find this part it would be a big help, i just checked NAPA autozone carquest., with no luck

easy enough. could it be causing my throttle issue? once i make over 3/4 boost the car cuts out

I am scrapping my 92 Talon to fund my Galant build, and i traded a guy a 1990 6bolt long block for my front end. Well anyways he says the engine was running when he pulled it from his friends car but it was mixing oil and coolant, He said its because his friend installed a plug in the wrong place right behind the oil pump/front case. I thought it was the balance shaft plug but he says its not. I was just getting someones input.

And another question is do i need a 1990 wire harness to use this block. Its going into my Galant and ill be using the the gvr4 ecu and harness. If someone could direct me to what all i need to use a 90 block. The only thing i know is you have to get the 90 specific OFH and a External Oil Cooler. I searched threw forums and Vfaq but not much info.

Here is the pic of the block and its the plug just to the top left. Id it suppose to be there or not. Thanks

No That is not supposed to be there. The plus is supposed to go in the front case. That space needs a bearing rotated so it blocks off the oil feed. That plug may or may not have done that. There is also another bearing inside the block that needs the same treatment.

No, you do not need a 1990 wiring harness nor do you need the 1990 OFH and external oil cooler. The OFH and cooler, at least, may be desirable to you and you can use them if you'd like.

All you need to do is make sure that the electronics in the GVR4 are reused (i.e., they match the harness). That generally means the CAS, throttle body sensors, power transistor, and coil pack.

Reuse the engine mount brackets from the GVR4 as well.

It looks like that plug is driven in backwards. They don't tend to stay put real well when you drive them in backwards.

Thanks for the info, I Have the 6bolt head from the car, i just needed a new block cause The GVR4 Was completely trashed. Since i still have the old OFH of my 92 Talon 7Bolt, Will that bolt on to the 90 Block? I will just use that since i replaced it with a new OEM when i got the car in Febuary.

Is there an Easy way of getting that plug out because it looks pretty secure in there. I might just order an entire new BSE and Oil/pump front case just tpo make sure its working and new.

That plug is to block off the balance shaft. There's no way it would mix coolant and oil. The headgasket was most likely blown.

Since ill be using the same block just different head should i have the block checked to make sure there isn't any warping or anything like that.

No, your 7 bolt ofh will not bolt on, you will need to source a 6 bolt housing. I wouldn't bother removing that plug, just seal it up really good, most people just mix up some jb weld and slap it on there. You're block should be fine if you are using a composite head gasket, if you are using an MLS gasket we always recommend having both surfaces checked/resurfaced.

I actually have my plug installed the same way on my 6 bolt. I had no clue that was the wrong way! I used a 30 or 32mm socket to drive it in. I imagine you could drive it through and flip it.

I'd say get them checked out for peace of mind. I have seen threads on how your supposed to have a very smooth finish to run a MLS headgasket. I don't know what your goals are though. I have also read that the Oem and felpro composite gasket hold pretty good with a set of head studs.

I really just want to get this running because i want to drive the GVR4, but i have a complete 6bolt Block just needs a oil pan. I also have a bare .20 6bolt block that i wanted to build with new parts but money is tight. I also have a near new SBR 7bolt head i would like to get machined to put on 1 of these 6bolts. Im looking for mainly DD and "reliable."

Cab anyone help ID these parts? Thanks
