Hey guys, ive been researching the cause of this, and none of the previous threads mention the car will not start period.
History: I pulled the head apart after a burst block to turbo coolant hose left me stuck at school, I checked the valve train, and everything looked fine, no oil in the coolant, no coolant bubbling, no sweet smelling exhaust. So I installed a new 20g turbo (thanks justin!) along with an FP inline oil filter, changed out the engine oil and filter, re-sealed the valve cover, re-sealed the cooling junction (where all the pipes meet), installed new lower injector o-rings, so I figured she was ready to fire right up.
After I installed the new 20g turbo, and solved a coolant leak that persisted with a bad o-ring on the water pipe, I changed out the injectors with some FIC 650cc's, (have an SAFC coming next week) but figured I could at least turn it over to make sure there were no more oil/coolant leaks. But after trying, and trying, couldn't get the car to turn over at all. So I ran down a mental list of sensors that I may have missed, but they were all connected.
I finally checked the spark plugs and all but the plug on cylinder #1 were wet with a black looking fluid on it that smelled like gas ( i'm guessing oil? ) so I sprayed them off with brake cleaner, let them air dry and then re-installed them and tried again. Same result, only less of a mess this time, it was just covering the electrode this time.
I had installed NGK plugs set at .28 gap which is specification for the 4g63, but the wires are still NGK (they look old though) so my question is, is it the injectors that are causing this issue? or is there a bad gasket somewhere? Again, I have read the other threads but it seems to me like this issue has a different underlying cause, can anyone help point me in the right direction?
