Well getting out of the dsm game didn't last very long. I spent 3 years building my 9 sec no compromise talon only to have to sell it before completion due to a lot of stuff going on inmy life that took priority. I picked up a TBSS(trailblazer SS) that I messed around with put a LSX454 in it only to have my thrust bearing go on me. Anyway all that brought me to a great deal on a 95 GSX that I couldn't pass up on. It came with a longblock and drivetrain but had no accessories or anything else and the past month or two I have been buckling down and putting it together kinda under the radar cause I wasn't looking to go big like my ( sec build just something fun and quick that I could actually enjoy every day. For some reason I don't do small builds small enough but I think this is pretty moddest so far. I wanted to wait till I was just about done so I didn't jinx myself like my other build Anyway here is what I have so far:

95 Eclipse GSX AWD
97 front conversion
6 bolt swap rebuilt with arp head studs and 2g pistons
272 regrinds
JMF Drag SMIM
Q45
RedJack Racing tubular manifold
38mm wastegates
hx40ii(cheap ebay turbo till the engine is broken in)
50mm Bov
2.5" hot pipes with 3" UICP
COP setup
Wire tuck
Glowshift Wideband Oil pressure and boost gauges

Some other little stuff but nothing big right now. Not looking to set the world on fire right now but really just want to get back to enjoying dsms again.

Update: My Godspeed radiatior didn't have the outlet in the right spot so I put it up for sale and I'm gonna go with a dual passenger side Afco setup. My wastegates bolted up nice and I picked up a FP 4" intake to finish off my piping setup. Lower intercooler pipe bolted up like it was designed for the setup I have to tip my hat to my local machine shop TJK in millville NJ

Welcome back, looks like a clean car over all! Two things though, 1. lose that strut bar it looks like garbage in my opinion 2. if you're going to continue to run a turbo like that i'm assuming you're using SD at least put a filter on it, a filter is going to protect it 100% more then that mesh screen on it. That is when you get a real turbo, i bet that china garbage will ruin itself just as quick as a rock or anything getting sucked up in there.

Wow man. Way to be subtle... who is anyone to say what looks like garbage on someone else's car? Its their car. Who cares?

People run ebay turbos all the time. And some people have decent success with them when they aren't ran at high levels of boost all the time. And I don't see any mesh on the turbo... To me that looks like a red cap/dust cover to keep anything from getting into the turbo.

I would have to completely disagree. I actually really like the strut bar, it seems to stand out as something that is different from what you typically see. As for the turbo comment, the only thing that the OP said was that it was from ebay, that DOESN'T mean that it is a bad turbo. The hx40 turbos are GREAT turbos and used on many DSMs. It could be a USED turbo that was simply on ebay.

On a side note, are you running any type of tuning software that you just didn't list? You don't have a wideband or DSMlink listed so not sure. You also don't have larger fuel injectors listed so in reality you may not need a full tuning system just yet.

Everyone will have their opinion on cosmetic type performance mods like strut bars so I won't go there

That's just a red cap that the turbo was shipped with no mesh

I'm running a HX40II chinese special but only because I'm breaking in my motor and not looking for a whole lot right now. The goal is to mount up a S366 or sorts in a t3 frame.

I'm gonna be running speed density or a evo maf with AEM EMS or v3 whichever I can get a good deal on when I'm ready to pick up a tuning solution. Either way I'm looking for a good 4" intake that's the only reason why the red cap is still on.

Thanks for everyones input and comments always interested to hear what people think about builds. Lets you know if your doings something stupid LOL

Hahaha ditch the strut bar over looks?......you do know it improves handling right and its not just for show, those strut towers move a hell of a lot in heavy cornering ask a Auto-x or drift guy.

Looks like you got yourself a gem there Slippi84, good luck man!

Yeah I know but not really into autox or anything like that this is just a fun DD.

Ohh goody another completely comprimised no comprimise build.

Thanks for your valuable contrabution of hate it as you are very much apreciated and needed for my day to continue as planned...smh

So what happened to the TBSS? I was strongly considering buying one when I saw you post about the tranny woes, then really starting searching the topic. Unfortunetly there is no TBSS in my driveway.:nono:

Thats a clean 2G slip. I'm building my buddies and I have to say they are terrible for a big man. I'd definitly have to get a smaller steering wheel. I know damn well this is going to turn into a nasty 2G sooner than later. With your knowledge of these cars, and seeing what you did with the last build, I don't think your going to let yourself go the cheap route for to long. Good choice on the RedJackRacing manifold..

The TBSS actually had internal engine problems. My brand new LSX454 thrust bearing went only 2 weeks after getting it running and enjoying it. My biggest problem with the TBSS is that it's such a tight engine bay and such a pain in the but to do anything on it especially the awd because even to drop the oil pan and take a peak at what's going on you have to take apart the whole front end because the intermediate shaft goes threw the oil pan.

As for the the 2gf getting wild it's alwaqys possible but I'm getting it running with this setuyp and then doing it one part at a time so I can actually enjoy versus trying to do everything at once like the talon. One day at a tim but either way thanks for the kind words sir you REAL dsm guys who are about the cars and enjoying the cars and meeting new people are why I missed the dsm community.

That set up looks yummy! I didn't mean to get off on the wrong foot or come off as a douche to anyone I was simply stating 2 things I would do. Yes I know the strut bar improves handling I simply said lose that one, and that in my opinion I didn't like the look of it. As far as the turbo I thought you had the mesh screens that some put on rather then a filter. If you actually read what the op said it says "cheap eBay turbo till motors broke in" not real hx40 I found for cheap on eBay. Yes I know they're commonly used on our applications I was in between an hx35 and the big 16g I ended up with for a steal. No need for anyone to get their panties in a bunch over ones opinion..

Keep on doing what you're doing man it looks good! I'm jealous of that bay :hellyeah:

is there a filter on the end of that air intake? and is that a cold air intake? LOL im an idiot

Got al vacuum lines run and while I had time VHTed my tail lights because I'm going for a all dark look.
