I had a 2000 stang that had something similar on the rear quarter panel. They cut it from the door jam all the way back to the trunk and tacked it in. I didn't do a body shop did, but you couldn't even tell afterwards. Hopefully somebody proficient in body work will chime in. Sucks bro, I'm a sorry to see this happen:(

yes sir it was parked for the night and she was sleeping. Till a drunk idoit:barf: had to drive hit so hard it snapped the rear knuckle as well pretty much pushed the car:cry: .So agian guys i say please dont drink and drive either get wasted at a house and stay or call a cab

Just swap it over on your other talon and then do the body work on this one. It leaves you with a dsm to drive while waiting for repairs. I have no clue how to do body work, but I could ask a few of my drift friends who wreck their cars all the time ROFL

Chances are they did a pretty good number to their own vehicle, and may file a claim -- maybe even using a similar story. Hopefully, they left something of their vehicle on yours so police can match it up? Yes, it's a little CSI, but it happens. That is, if you filed a report. Can you have an uninsured vehicle on the roadway down there, even just sitting around? I know we can't. If somebody here hit an uninsured vehicle and caused that vehicle to hit another or worse, a person, then all hell would break loose.

haha yes please do ask your freinds on this. As my 97 tsi has 112k the white shell has a 176k some rust but its missing seats rear hatch rear knuckle that went on mine. Also its filled with parts and stuff etc rims exhuast off cars . If you no anyone who wants it let me know i mean cheap shell

ya this is what i am planning on doing to it . Trouble is i dont even know where to start> blackwhidow i didnt no you lived in sd haha i am 1 hr form ya :D

Some f@cking people in this world!!!!! I had a buddy with a PRESTINE GVR4 that this same thing happened too, except it was rear ended to the point where there wasnt a trunk left. When the cops came to investigate, they told him that the damage was due to the track cause they found his time slips from that night.

Hell, I came back from Afganistan, saw what looks like a key mark going from fender to fender, and about lost it. The car had a 2yr old paint job, sat in the garage on carpet, with a car cover over it. (BTW, there was no motor in it). Then whoever did it tried to cover the scratch up with metallic blue touchup paint on a black cherry car!!!! Then my insurance company wouldn't cover the damages cause they told me they weren't suppose to cover a car that wasn't running. Of course I say, "Where's my money I've been giving you that you had no problems taking?" And this is from a WELL KNOWN INSURANCE COMPANY!!!!

AAARGGHHHH, FREAKING INCONSIDERATE @$$HOLES!!!!!

I have another wonderful story about inconsiderate pricks, except I took it upon my self for retaliation but I think I have said enough.

I hope you can get the damage fixed.

haha yes i really really do as well  .Car is clean no rust just well where it got hit now . Its a clean 97 otherwise LOL i hope karma visited that guy/or gal good afther that. I mean it was a gorgous car and in ten secs it turned beater:mad:. We do have a 96 tsi fwd just like my 97 could be a donor . My questions is where to start at it LOL .If anyone needs bigger pics i can send off my cell 1-308-340-1922

I was in the same situation. He hit me while my car was parked. I heard the crash and quickly went outside and he was driving off so I ran half ways down the block till he saw me and he stopped. I made a police report and his insurance covered me. The body work was done by my uncle who is only semi-experienced and it came out good. Make sure the suspension wasn't tweaked in any way. If its possible, you're better off buying a shell and dropping your motor in it.

Alright, so I'm having a few people I know looking at the picture. Hopefully they can give us an idea of how to go about fixing it. Should see some responses within a day or so.

Alright, sorry about taking so long on my reply, but my friend says "just cut off the quarter panel, square subframe, and tube rear end and over-fender it like a drift car"

Lol, I didn't notice you were from SD either. How's that corn palace? LOL

And the way we section a panel at work is:

Cut out a section large enough to cover the damaged area from the good panel first. Measure and make sure the panel will completely replace the damaged area.

Next, place the section of the panel you just cut over the dameged panel, and trace the outline of the cut panel. Now you know exactly where to cut out the old section and have your new section fit in perfectly.

Then start tack welding. Make not to apply too much heat and warp the section and all of that happy shit.
