I changed my oil and filter when i got my car, when it was stock, i have since then put on an apexi 3" exhaust, e3 16g, tubular manifold and elbow. I went to change the oil last night, and the filter unscrews off of the threads, and is stuck between the elbow/downpipe flange and the filter neck it screws fast to. :ohdamn: I was wondering if anyone else encountered this and how to fix it, my dad said that "back in the day" the mopars had a similar issue when you put headers on them, and someone made an aparatus that goes on where the filter went and angles it forward, back, up, down, wherever it was out of the way

I had that issue once so I switched to the filter for the 93 since they are smaller. The rubber gasket is the same size as the earlier ones. I have a 6 bolt swap so it had the big filter. I haven't had any problems with it so far.

As far as getting the old one off, i would smash in the end a bit than it should come off, you can also unbolt the downpipe. I would go with a 2g filter because they are a little smaller and should be easier to maneuver.

If you are absolutely out of room, you can always go with a forward facing oil filter housing. You lose oil cooling of any kind, although I've been using one for quite some time and have seen no ill-effects.
