I managed to remove all the trim to expose the headliner.
Now I notice that there are side tabs that go behind
the seat-belt guide rails. Do I need to remove the guide rails or is there enough flex in the headliner to pull out around the rails. I would hate to break the headliner.
Thanks for your help because I am at a point of no return.

Thanks, seattleshawn. I will Pull the 4 bolts on the guide and see what happens.
Fehrion_sit DSM did not make it easy to get to the headliner. I will summarize my experience when I am done.

The good news is I could easily remove and install the headliner without messing with the seatbelt guides. But now my problem is getting the headlining trim in place, those rubber strips in front and back of the headliner.
Anybody know how to do this properly or are there any tricks to get this done. I would appreciate any help because I am stuck.
Thanks.

Ever get that resolved? I have the same problem the front headliner trim on mine keeps falling off

I got quoted for $135 for my headliner with a 2 year warranty. IMO its worth not having to deal all the BS. Plus if it messes up you can always bring it back:D

I've removed my headliner in 2 of the DSMs I've owned and had them redone and then I reinstalled them myself. One with sunroof and one without. Around $70 IIRC. Loosen the seat belt rails. I even got my sunvisors wrapped and was able to keep the mirror for the ladies. That was an extra $50. I went with black both times and it looks great!

I would suggest removing all panels that are holding in the headliner or restricting it from coming down on its own free will. If you apply to much force to the headliner it will end up getting ruined and have cracks and bends that will be physically unappealing. It's always best to do every repair the proper way, even if it ends up taking a little bit longer. When you rush or try to force stuff on a car, the car is more than likely not going to respond well. Kind of like a woman. Haha
