I want to solid mount the rear subframe without using bushings. So I found some washers from lowes that fit the stock steel sleeve. I'm not worried about the washers breaking free or any future damage. I've performed this before on my SCCA ITE class 2004 MINI cooper s with no issues in 5 race seasons.





And after paint.

I also cleaned and detailed the body and engine harness. Started reinstalling everything.

New battery and home made battery mounting.

Another update will happen within the next week or so. I started disassembling the talon today.

why you taking the talon apart?

I'm swapping in the rear subframe,4 bolt rear,5 lug conversion, engin,trans, exc.. Into the galant.

Really like the washer idea on the rear subframe bushings. I'm DOIN IT!!

Just take your time and do a couple welds and let it cool. Do that to both sides equally so the rubber doesn't melt and ruin any future welds you make.

Removed the engine and trans as well as the coilovers from the talon.

Well I got ahead of myself today and forgot to take pics of the cleaned up coilovers. Tomorow I will take some installed on the car.
Today I swapped the ABS delete,front 5 lug hubs,front coilovers,talon PS rack, poly swaybar bushings and talon PS res with lines.

Here's a pic of the front. I haven't cleaned the calipers Or rotors because I will be swapping them out for brembo rotors and race calipers.
I also removed the rear subframe from the talon. Ready for cleaning tomorrow.

Completed alot today. Welded the washers onto the subframe,installed subframe,blead the brakes,put the wheels on and dropped the car off the stands.

Also installed the poly rear sway bar bushings.

Raisd the back up a bit looks like scrape heaven.

I plan to I just needed to move it to the shop.

Ready to install the Walbro 255 and found this shit!

The hanger is to rusted to use so I broke the fitting to hopfully save the hose. I then bead blasted the fitting and soaked it in PB blaster.
Looks like the hose will be ok.
Since the FP is toast I figured I would modify a 1g dsm hanger.

Adjusted the front and rear coilovers so the car sits higher. Was able to weld in the lower radiator mounts and dropped the engine in place.
