Yet anything is possible... If you are really serious, do your homework and calculate the total expenses before you even decide to take the wrench. Its a very expensive project and will require big $$$ pockets, it ain't a cheap project. And unless you have very well deep knowledge and skills with hardcore automotive custom jobs, it won't be a diy project since it aint just a wrench bolt-in parts project. And since you said and I quote "The only way id go through with anything is if i could find cheap parts and do the work myself.", sounds like this type of project aint for you. You better of selling your 420A, and buy a AWD 4G63 and stick with bolt-on performance parts that you can handle...
Ive seen a fair share of diy 4G63 RWD conversions and to be honest they look like crap and don't seem too reliable and safe. There are already a few parts available for 4G63 RWD's conversion and they are really expensive. Your 420A RWD conversion idea would be a first, and a lot more custom parts would be needed than a 4G63 RWD conversion making it even more expensive than a 4G63 RWD conversion.
I know dreaming custom unique projects is great, but be real and truthful to yourself in your 420A RWD conversion idea...
