Replacing gasket for oil filter bracket. Does bracket unbolt and come right off or does timing cover or anything else need to be removed first?

Decieded to take timing cover off after all. Guess I need to put sealant on threads of tentioner bolts. Would sealant work on filter bracket gasket or does it have ti be replaced?

You don't need sealant on the tensioner bolt threads. If the gasket behind the oil pump is installed properly than those will never leak oil. You need a new gasket for the filter housing if you are removing it. Don't use any sealant on the gasket, install it dry.

Ordered gasket ( only $ 3.50). There's a couple of recent post with what seams like the same mysterios oil leak. They're saying an oil passage in threaded hole for tentioner.
