I was just thinking today. I have a few people locally that think I am the daggummitt dsm guru because I built a car that holds its own, basically it kicks butt and takes names later. But i like a lot of people have those in the community that inspire me liike I inspire others. I want to know who inspire you or basically who do you look up to to keep on going in the dsm world? these are the 3 people that I follow on these board and they cease to amaze me with their projects and like the carrot in front of the horse I look at them with the hopes of one day getting close to their success.

    • Kiggly
    • Talon Dave
    • Richard33
Kiggly becasause I love his unorthodox approach to dsm performance. He just like me didn't give a rats @#$% about what others thought about him building and suping up a FWD dsm. None the less he ran the fasting time at the 2012 dsm shootout posting a time of 8.2 seconds in the quarter mile.

Talon dave because he is not in the lime light. His humble approach to dsm performance has lead him to build a very respectable awd dsm that gets much respect.

Richard33 for the same reason I like talon dave. He is also humble not a big talker nor does he follows the crowd. He does his own thing and I just love the way he put a street driven 2g FWD into the 10s big inspiration to me considering I will alway be FWD. Give me something to shoot for to say the least.

Post your inspiration. Thanks:cool:

I miss Defiant.

Guy was always trying to give me life advice when I was younger. It turned out that he was right about a lot of things.

I don't really have any DSM inspirations, I kinda just drove the crap out of it :)

John Whalen is an awesome guy. Have looked up to him since the day i first talked with him

Yeah what happen to defiant? He was straight up he didn't hold back any punches and you are right that fool was 99% Dead on everytime:p

Local guy named Jeff, watched him and this panda run 10's. At the time I was running FWD and told myself I need AWD. Dont think hes on this board, but I know hes on the link forums

My buddy Steve (Stryker) originally got me into these shitboxes. Without him there would be no JusMX141 on this forum.

Good for him because I can't imagine what the information in the turbo section of the forum would look like if there was no JusM141 to ask:applause:

Shep fastest street talon ever period

GSX(Craig aka catpult) first colt swapped car i seen at the track, I had my gsx and this guy I went to talk to him after he blew the doors off a new C5 vette. I asked what all you got done, he was like it's a junk yard motor with a used turbo. Less then a few grand in his set up running 11's then tens.

My brother his best friend had a 1995 talon TSI in high school in 1995, been hooked ever since.

I got my first '90(GST) from a lady for $900. My brother told me what motor was in it and told me to go to the message boards. I finally found some local guys and the rest is "history." First time I rode in FiascoXL's Colt I was hooked at going fast and shitting myself basically. Now I'm on my third car that he has helped me build and I keep getting in more debt for the love of these cars. Gotta love DSM's.

Oddly enough, Steve moved from my area to live in Oakland, MD around 2001 so he was the driving force behind TalonDave's interest as well. I met Dave through Steve for the first time in spring 2005 at my local track when Dave drove his FWD Laser up and broke the axle on his very first pass. Steve has since moved back to Western PA and is the finance manager at a large local motorcycle shop.

So Steve not only gave me interest in DSM's, he also got Dave seriously interested as well...and he's also responsible for me meeting awesome guys like Dave, Gabe (4G63awdhonda), and Ricky (dacowgod).

Id have to say Mr Peepers.. Grew up with him in High school back when his talon was pretty much stock. Thought his car was the fastest thing ever! haha.. He had bought another 1g awd back then and was planning on selling his red 1g, I was set up to buy it but due to some unfortunate events I couldnt.. D:

Now that Im back home and he got Kenny (kp116) into the game from the f-body scene, its great to be around these guys, along with /J.. Gives me something to push my spyder to be like.. I dont think Ill ever see times like kenny though. haha!!

Well I have been watching runs from red demon devin I must say he also is now on my list:thumb:<iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/uhnohVpAeX4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I just went on craigslist and bought a talon for no reason at all... and I have been filling my basement with parts since, because the things break so much.

After my fianc&#233;s Corolla got smashed through a red light, we were in the market for a new car. She loved her Corolla but wanted something less boring and finally decided on the Eclipse. A life-long Ford guy, the only thing I knew about Eclipses was that they were hard to catch LOL. I didn't want her in a turbocharged car and researching the 420a left me unimpressed. It wasn't looking promising but I decided to take some test drives and test the waters.

After being flaked on all day, we had one last appointment that evening. Since the seller didn't post pictures we weren't expecting much. We arrive at the guys house only to be met with a flawless 98 Spyder. I had no clue the Eclipse came convertible and was very happy to hear it had a 2.4 NA Mitsubishi engine. It ran smooth, had great power, only had 90k miles. My fianc&#233; liked the way it looked, especially with the top down. But once the sunset hit the Minden Silver paint, she wasn't leaving without it. I haggled the guy down to $3K and drove it home that day.

I found myself driving it more often than my Bronco, so I decided to sell the Ford and get myself a turbo model. A couple years and thousands later, here we are. :)

Nobody really inspired me "into" the dsm world. My dad actually bought me a 92' GS auto w/ 90xxxx miles for my first car and had it for a year until the timing belt gave up. After the GS and its forceful ways that make you learn about the motor(and it just looks good) I decided to look for another dsm(1g) since i already kinda learned about them I wanted a turbo model, so i got my TSi and got more than I bargained for once i learned about what i got myself into.

Long story short, I learned my way into these cars since 17.
